This 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS coupe was delivered new to Northtown Subaru of Amherst, New York, and was later acquired by its current owner in 2000. Power comes from a 2.5-liter flat-four linked to a five-speed manual transaxle and an all-wheel-drive system, and the car is finished in Rally Blue Pearl over black and gray cloth upholstery. It rolls on 16″ aluminum-alloy wheels and is further equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, a Japanese-market hood, a raised rear spoiler, revised exhaust components, air conditioning, cruise control, and an in-dash six-disc CD changer. The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black cloth with patterned gray inserts, and a leatherette shift boot has been installed. Appointments include air conditioning, cruise control, remote keyless entry, dual airbags, an in-dash six-disc CD changer, and a dash-mounted digital display with a compass and readouts for outside temperature and barometric pressure.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 100k miles, approximately 75k of which have been added under current ownership.

The 2.5-liter EJ25 flat-four was factory rated at 165 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Service in 2021 involved replacing the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, rear main seal, spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, and cylinder head gaskets.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and an all-wheel-drive system. The selling dealer tells us that the exhaust system features a WRX-sourced mid-section and an STi-sourced muffler. The flywheel and clutch were replaced in 2021, and a CV axle shaft was replaced in preparation for the sale.
