This 2006 BMW M5 was purchased by the seller on BaT in March 2022, and over $26k of subsequent work and modifications included the installation of a Kreissieg valvetronic cat-back exhaust system, addressing vacuum leaks, fluid changes, and replacing the clutch, flywheel, slave cylinder, ECU, iDrive CCC module, battery, front passenger seat emulator, filters, spark plugs, front lower control arms, rear tires, and more. Powered by a 5.0-liter V10 paired with a seven-speed SMG sequential transmission, the car is finished in Silver Gray Metallic over black Merino leather. Equipment includes an M Variable differential, 19″ Style 166 wheels, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and Comfort Access keyless entry. This E60 M5 has 39k miles and is now offered in California with a window sticker, a car cover, service records, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.

The M5 features flared fenders and rocker panels as well as revised bumper covers, front fender vents, and quad exhaust outlets when compared to the standard E60. This example is finished in Silver Gray Metallic (A08) and is equipped with a glass sunroof, Park Distance Control parking sensors, and adaptive bi-xenon headlights with washers. There are imperfections on the lower portion of the right fender and right front door, a blemish is shown on the rear bumper cover, and additional photos of the paint and trim condition are viewable in the gallery below.

Silver-finished 19″ Style 166 wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires up front and Bridgestone rear tires, the latter of which were installed in March 2024. The car is equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with M Dynamic Mode, and braking is handled by four-wheel cross-drilled and ventilated discs. The front lower control arms were replaced and the brake fluid was flushed in July 2026.

The cabin features black Merino leather covering the heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats, door panel inserts, and center console, while Walnut Madeira wood trim accents the dashboard, center console, and doors. Amenities include iDrive with navigation, a head-up display, Comfort Access keyless entry, heated rear seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, a power rear sunshade, retractable rear window shades, all-weather floor mats, a six-disc CD changer, dual-zone automatic climate control, and cruise control. The front passenger seat emulator was replaced in 2024, and the iDrive CCC module and cabin filter were replaced in 2026. The leather-wrapped multifunction steering features M tri-colored stitching and paddle shifters. Instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a variable redline, a digital display, and readouts for fuel level and oil temperature. The odometer indicates 39k miles, approximately 7k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.0-liter S85 V10 features a semi-dry-sump lubrication system, individual throttle bodies, and double-VANOS variable valve timing. Factory-rated output was 500 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. Work in 2024 consisted of replacing the ECU and repairing the bank 1 oxygen sensor, as well as a Blackstone oil analysis. The bank 2 intake boot and associated vacuum hose clamps were replaced in 2025, and maintenance in 2026 included an oil change and replacing the battery, engine air filters, and spark plugs. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed SMG single-clutch sequential transmission and an M Variable differential. The car was fitted with a Kreissieg valvetronic cat-back exhaust system in 2022, and the rear differential fluid was changed in March of that year. Work in March 2024 consisted of replacing the flywheel, clutch, and clutch slave cylinder, along with changing the transmission gear oil. An aftermarket exhaust flap controller was installed in June 2026. The seller tells us that the removed factory exhaust components are currently stored in Philadelphia.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Hendrick BMW in Charlotte, North Carolina, along with factory colors, options, and a total suggested retail price of $94,615.

The Carfax report indicates the car was stolen in December 2023 and was recovered in January 2024.

The car is titled in New York but located in California. It has not passed a California smog test.
