This Lancia Flaminia was produced on October 31, 1960, as one of an estimated 847 convertible examples built by Carrozzeria Touring between 1960 and 1965. Chassis 1198 was initially delivered in Paris, France, and it was exported to Switzerland in 1984, where it underwent refurbishment work in the 1990s that included a color change to silver. Power is suppled by a replacement 2.5-liter V6 outfitted with a single Solex carburetor, while shifting is via a rear-mounted four-speed manual transaxle. It rides on metric steel wheels and is further equipped with four-wheel Dunlop disc brakes as well as a black convertible top, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and black leather upholstery over twin bucket seats. Recently acquired by the selling dealer, a BaT Local Partner, this Flaminia is now offered in North Salem, New York, with service records and a clean Tennessee title.
The aluminum bodywork of the Flaminia convertible was designed, formed, and installed by Carrozzeria Touring of in Milan, Italy, using their superleggera construction technique, which involved wrapping a hand-formed aluminum skin over a steel structure.
Finished from the factory in Bianco Le Touquet, this example received bodywork prior to a repaint in its current silver performed as part of the aforementioned refurbishment completed in the 1990s. A replacement grille was installed at that time, and the black convertible soft top was repaired. Equipment includes chrome bumpers and trim, a hood scoop, quad headlamps, a door-mounted left mirror, a locking fuel door, and a dual-exit exhaust. The silver-finished 400mm steel wheels wear polished trim rings as well as Lancia-branded hubcaps, and they are mounted with 165-series Michelin X tires. A matching spare is stored in the trunk compartment. Stopping is handled by power-assisted Dunlop disc brakes, the rear units of which are positioned inboard.
The refreshed cabin houses bucket seats trimmed in black leather, which extends to the door and interior panels. A black dash pad tops the body-color dashboard, while blue carpets and rubber linings cover the floors. Additional appointments include a lockable glovebox, lap belts, and quarter vent windows.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of Jaeger instrumentation including a 220-km/h speedometer with integrated auxiliary gauges and a tachometer with an inset clock. The five-digit odometer shows 34k kilometers (~21k miles), and total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 2.5-liter V6 was installed under previous ownership and features alloy construction, a cylinder-bank angle of 60°, and a single Solex carburetor.
The Flaminia convertible rode on a 99″ wheelbase and featured an independent double-wishbone front suspension and a de Dion tube rear setup with an anti-roll bar. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a rear-mounted fully synchronized four-speed manual transaxle.
