1984 Porsche 944 5-Speed at No Reserve

This 1984 Porsche 944 was specified in Guards Red over black leatherette with pinstripe velour inserts, and it is powered by a 2.5-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes 15″ cookie-cutter alloy wheels, a sunroof, pop-up headlights, and fog lights. Purchased by the seller in 2024, this 944 is now offered at no reserve with a tool kit, a damage-free Carfax report, and a clean Kentucky title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Guards Red (LM3A) and features a sunroof, a rear spoiler, a rear window wiper, pop-up headlights, and fog lights. Close-up photos of the paint and trim condition are viewable in the gallery below.

The 15″ cookie-cutter alloy wheels show scratches and are mounted with General Altimax HP tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted ventilated discs.

The seats are trimmed in black leatherette with optional pinstripe velour inserts joined by matching cloth door panel inserts. The seller notes the air conditioning and radio are non-operable, and there are cracks in the dash as well as tears in the passenger seat inserts.

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. The Carfax report shows a mileage inconsistency in December 2017 that “may just be a clerical error.”

The water-cooled 2.5-liter M44 inline-four features Bosch engine management and was factory rated at 143 horsepower and 137 lb-ft of torque. The cabin air filter has been replaced and an oil change performed under current ownership.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle.

Decoding the option sticker reveals the following information:

  • LM3A – Guards Red paint
  • BH – Black leatherette and cloth interior
  • CO2 – US emissions equipment
  • H52 – Special option package
  • 431 – 363 mm 4-spoke H steering wheel
  • 526 – Cloth door panels

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and notes the aforementioned mileage inconsistency.
