This Diasio D962R is a rolling project that was purchased by the current owner in 2015 with the intention of converting it to an EV. The tubular steel spaceframe is outfitted with adjustable coilovers, tubular front control arms, and a live rear axle with a four-link setup and a Watt’s linkage. The composite body has an air scoop, acrylic windows, a rear wing, and a diffuser, while the interior features Ultra Shield racing seats and an Alpha steering wheel. No engine or gearbox are included, though the car retains a Winters quick-change rear end, an aluminum radiator, Black Rock 15” wheels, and Wilwood disc brakes. This Diasio roller is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner at no reserve with parts and a California title listing it as a 1971 SPCN.

Produced by the Diasio Car Company in Brownsburg, Indiana, the D962R rides on a tubular steel spaceframe designed to use a mid-mounted Mazda Renesis rotary. This car’s composite bodywork is finished in red and features an air scoop, a rear wing and diffuser, acrylic windows, and fender-mounted side mirrors. Black Rock 15” alloy wheels are wrapped in Falken tires. The independent front suspension features tubular control arms, adjustable coilovers, and rack-and-pinion steering, while the live rear axle is supported by a four-bar setup with a Watt’s linkage and QA1 adjustable coilovers. Braking is handled by Wilwood discs at all four corners.

The cabin is protected by a roll cage and houses two Ultra Shield racing seats with red covers. A brake bias adjuster is mounted in the faux carbon-fiber dashboard along with a blade-style fuse panel and toggle-switch controls. Wear on the interior surfaces can be viewed in the gallery.

An Alpha steering wheel sits ahead of a KUS 200-mph speedometer. The digital odometer reading is unknown, and several gauges are missing from the dashboard.

A Winters quick-change rear end and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans remain in place. The car does not have an engine, gearbox, or driveshaft.

The vehicle is titled as a 1971 SPCN using the VIN 1113066397, which appears on a tag riveted to the chassis. The car is currently registered as Planned Non-Operation in the state of California, and it has not been inspected by the California Air Resources Board or the Bureau of Automotive Repair.
