This 1983 DeLorean DMC-12 was purchased by the seller in 2019, and subsequent work reportedly totaling over $25k involved replacing the chassis, fitting adjustable coilovers, and rebuilding the turbochargers that had been fitted to the 2.85-liter V6. Additional service under current ownership is said to have included servicing the air conditioning and replacing the clutch, rear main seal, fuel and brake lines, multiple drivetrain seals, and more. The car features unfinished stainless-steel body panels over a black leather interior and is equipped with a five-speed manual transaxle, gullwing doors, rear window louvers, 14″ and 15″ turbine-style aluminum wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power windows, and air conditioning. This DMC-12 is offered with owner’s and service manuals, parts and service records, DeLorean World magazines, a damage-free Carfax report, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.

The Giugiaro-designed brushed stainless-steel bodywork and the composite underbody were removed in 2024 and refitted to a refurbished replacement Lotus-derived double-Y steel backbone chassis. Exterior details include refinished gray urethane bumper caps, quadruple headlights, counterbalanced gullwing doors, power-adjustable side mirrors, a louvered engine cover, dual exhaust outlets, and black side stripes, moldings, and added scoops. The seller reports a scratch on the left-side door and front fender.

Staggered-diameter 14″ and 15″ turbine-style aluminum wheels are mounted with 195/60 front and 225/60 rear Uniroyal Tiger Paw Touring tires. An adjustable coilover suspension kit and replacement brake lines were installed in 2024, and braking is provided by four-wheel discs.

The high-back bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and are accompanied by color-coordinated dashboard, center console, and door panels. Gray carpeting lines the floors, and additional appointments include air conditioning, power windows, central locking, and a cassette stereo that does not work. The air-conditioning condenser was replaced in 2024, and the refrigerant was recharged in 2026. Carpet discoloration and upholstery wear are noted by the seller.

The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel is mounted on a tilting and telescoping column and frames an 85-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. Mileage inconsistencies are noted in 1993 and 2019 entries on the Carfax report, and the speedometer drive was replaced in 2019. Total mileage is unknown.

The rear-mounted 2.85-liter V6 was designed and built by Peugeot, Renault, and Volvo (PRV) and has been modified with a twin-turbocharger kit, reportedly sourced from Island Turbo. Work during the seller’s time with the car has included installing a stainless-steel coolant-overflow tank and replacing the rear main seal, fuel lines, and engine mounts along with the exhaust manifolds, spark plugs, and cylinder-head and valve-cover gaskets. The turbochargers were rebuilt in 2026.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle. A replacement clutch is said to have been fitted under current ownership, and various drivetrain seals were replaced.
