This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was purchased by the seller in 2013 and subsequently refurbished with work that involved repairing the fiberglass front body panels and repainting the body in silver. Following the work completed in 2014, the car was awarded an NCRS Chapter Second Flight award. Power is provided by a 327ci L76 V8 linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a 4.11:1 Positraction differential, and a rebuilt Rochester Ramjet mechanical fuel injection unit was installed in 2022. Inside, a pair of Pontiac Fiero-sourced bucket seats are trimmed in black with red stitching and accompanied by an AM/FM radio and power windows. Additional equipment includes a dual exhaust system, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ cast aluminum wheels with redline tires. This C2 coupe is now offered with spare engine and suspension parts, the removed seats, four bias-ply tires, NCRS scoring sheets, and a Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The fiberglass body left the factory finished in Silver Pearl, and it was repainted in 2014 following replacement of the front fenders and nose section to repair damage from an accident under prior ownership. A crack in the paint alongside the lower driver-side corner of the windshield can be seen in the gallery. Details include flip-up headlights, chrome bumpers, fender vents, a driver-side mirror, and exhaust tips exiting through the rear valance.
The 15″ cast aluminum wheels feature knock-off hubs and are mounted with Toyo Extensa redline tires. The C2 Corvette was equipped with independent suspension, and this example is equipped with power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin houses a pair of bucket seats that were sourced from a Pontiac Fiero and are trimmed in black vinyl with red stitching. Appointments include a chrome shift knob, an AM/FM radio, and power windows.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership. The seller notes the fuel-level gauge works intermittently.
The 327ci L76 V8 was equipped from the factory with a single four-barrel carburetor, and a rebuilt Rochester Ramjet mechanical fuel injection unit was installed in 2022.
The engine stamping is shown above. The HH suffix corresponds with a 365-horsepower, 327ci V8 with a four-barrel carburetor for use with a manual transmission.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a 4.11:1 Positraction differential that was rebuilt in 2022. The dual exhaust system was replaced and exits through the rear valance.
