This 1989 Ford Mustang GT is a Bright Red hatchback that remained with its first owner from new until 2021, and it was subsequently modified with a retrofitted T5 five-speed manual transmission, a Ford Motorsport 3.55:1 gear set, and a Flowmaster cat-back exhaust system. Power is provided by a 302ci V8, and equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a hatch spoiler, fog lights, 15″ alloy wheels, cruise control, Medium Gray cloth-upholstered front sport seats, and a cassette stereo. The car was acquired by the seller on BaT in August 2025, and subsequent work is said to have included replacing the water pump, thermostat, radiator, and starter motor. Now showing 44k miles, this Fox-body Mustang GT is offered with a clean Carfax report and a New Jersey title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Bright Red (21). Exterior details include GT-specific bodywork, a fixed antenna, a hatch spoiler, fog lights, and power-adjustable mirrors. The seller notes areas of damaged paint on the edges of the fenders near the hood.

Turbine-style 15″ alloy wheels were mounted with 225/60 VR15 Goodyear Gatorback Vintage Series tires in December 2023. Standard equipment included a Handling Suspension Package featuring variable-rate springs and a Quadra-Shock rear setup along with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The articulated front sport seats and the rear bench seat are upholstered in Medium Gray cloth. Appointments include cruise control, a cassette stereo, and power windows and door locks. The air conditioning is inoperative.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 5,800-rpm redline, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 44k miles, approximately 300 miles of which were added under current ownership.

The 302ci V8 produced 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque when new. The seller tells us that the water pump, thermostat, radiator, and starter motor were replaced under current ownership.

The retrofitted T5 five-speed manual transmission was installed in place of the factory-installed automatic transmission in November 2021, at which time the Traction-Lok rear axle received a Ford Motorsport 3.55:1 gear set. The car is equipped with a Flowmaster cat-back exhaust system.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
