1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 4-Speed

This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is powered by a 327ci V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential, and it is refinished in red over black vinyl upholstery. Features include a replacement white convertible soft top, 15″ reproduction turbine-style wheels with three-eared knock-off spinners, four-wheel drum brakes, concealed headlights, a heater, and an aftermarket stereo. The current owner acquired the car in 2010, and the engine, transmission, instrument cluster, and differential have since been rebuilt. Receipts exceeding $30k since 2010 accompany the vehicle. This C2 convertible is now offered in Pennsylvania on dealer consignment with a clean Delaware title.

The fiberglass body was finished at the factory in Riverside Red (923) and was refinished under previous ownership. Features include a replacement white convertible soft top as well as flip-up headlamps, fender vents, quad tail lamps, chrome bumperettes, and dual exhaust tips that exit through the rear valance. Paint blemishes are shown in the gallery.

Reproduction 15″ turbine-style wheels wear three-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/75 Hankook Optimo H724 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums, and the fully independent suspension includes upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Both systems were overhauled in 2012.

The two bucket seats are retrimmed in black vinyl, and the dash pads and carpets have been replaced. Equipment includes a heater, an analog clock, lap belts, and an aftermarket radio.

The instrument cluster was rebuilt in 2011 and contains a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 65k miles.

The 327ci V8 was rebuilt in 2013 and is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and electronic ignition. The engine stamp pad is blank, though the casting number and date are shown in the gallery.

The Positraction differential was rebuilt in 2011. In 2015, the four-speed manual transmission was rebuilt and a 2.5″ aluminized exhaust system was installed.
