This 1971 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is one of 2,116 examples produced for the model year and was modified with an LS-based V8 and a performance four-speed automatic transmission under prior ownership. The exterior was refinished in white with blue stripes and accents following the seller’s acquisition in 2024. The car rides on an aftermarket front subframe, billet honeycomb-style wheels, rack-and-pinion steering, adjustable coilovers, and Wilwood disc brakes at all four corners. Inside, black leather Corbeau seats are joined by a custom console and door panels, a Kenwood head unit, Vintage Air climate control, NuRelics power windows, and a Formula-style steering wheel ahead of a Holley digital instrument cluster. This Firebird Trans Am is now offered with PHS Automotive Services documentation and a Texas title.

The body is finished in white with blue center stripes and a matching Trans Am hood decal. Exterior details include a shaker hood, a front air dam, front fender vents, bright trim, Ringbrothers door hinges, digital front marker lamps, Holley LED headlights, replacement windshield and door glass, window tint, digital taillights, and a decklid spoiler. Under current ownership, parts of the car were repainted, and photos taken during the process are presented in the gallery below.

The car rides on an aftermarket front subframe with rack-and-pinion steering, and adjustable coilovers are found at all four corners. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood disc brakes fed by a dual-reservoir master cylinder.

Aftermarket 18″ billet honeycomb wheels are secured with revised wheel studs and wear BFGoodrich g-Force Comp-2 front tires and 335/30 Nitto NT555 G2 rubber at the rear. A Detroit Speed mini-tub kit was installed to accommodate the rear wheel setup.

The cabin was retrofitted with black leather Corbeau front bucket seats during the build, as well as custom console and door panels. It is further appointed with NuRelics power windows, a Vintage Air climate control system, a Kenwood touchscreen stereo on the console, Ringbrothers door lock knobs, carbon-fiber-look trim overlays, replacement dash vents, and an American Autowire harness.

A tilting Formula-style steering wheel fronts a carbon-fiber-style bezel with a Holley EFI 12.3″ Pro Dash digital instrument cluster. The digital odometer shows 2k miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The seller tells us the small-block V8 utilizes an LS2-specification aluminum block and LS3 square-port cylinder heads. Further details include a twin-pipe air intake, a sheet-metal intake manifold, vintage-look coil covers, and a Holley Dominator EFI system. The hood opens on Ringbrothers billet hinges, and the engine bay has been finished in white and “Carbon Flash Metallic.”

The four-speed automatic transmission is said to have been fitted with steel planetary gears and other performance enhancements, per the seller. Stainless-steel headers are linked to a custom X-pipe exhaust system that terminates ahead of the 9″ rear end.
