1989 Volkswagen Rallye Golf G60 at No Reserve

This 1989 Volkswagen Rallye Golf is one of approximately 5,000 units built for homologation in Group A racing, and it is powered by a supercharged 1.8-liter G60 inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transaxle and Syncro all-wheel drive. Originally delivered for the Belgian market, the car was owned in Germany until it was purchased by the seller in December 2022 and imported to the United States in February 2023. Finished in Green Pearl Effect, it rides on 18″ O.Z. Racing wheels and is equipped with KW V3 coilovers, Recaro seats, a sunroof, fog lights, and a VW Premium Audio stereo. The car underwent a restoration in Germany prior to import, with a binder documenting the work included in the gallery. This Rallye Golf is now offered at no reserve as part of the Tons of Gas Auto Collection with a clean Carfax report, records, a fitted cover, a VW Museum certificate, and a clean North Carolina title.

The Rallye Golf features a model-specific grille, bumper covers, box-flares, and headlights. The seller states that the car was stripped and repainted Green Pearl Effect during its restoration in Germany, with approximately 95% genuine Volkswagen replacement parts used throughout.

O.Z. Racing 18″ Ultraleggera wheels are mounted with Nankang tires measuring 205/35 up front and 225/35 at the rear. The suspension has been upgraded with KW V3 adjustable coilovers installed in Germany in 2017.

The cabin features power height-adjustable Recaro sport seats upholstered in black leather with gray and red cloth inserts. Additional appointments include electric windows, a VW Premium Audio AM/FM/cassette stereo, a golf-ball shift knob, and embroidered Rallye Golf floor mats.

MotoMeter instrumentation consists of a 260-km/h speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level, while a VDO boost gauge is mounted in the center console. The six-digit odometer shows approximately 166k kilometers (about 103k miles), approximately 100 miles of which were added under current ownership.

The supercharged 1.8-liter G60 inline-four was factory rated at 160 horsepower and 164 lb-ft of torque.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and the factory Syncro all-wheel-drive system.

Records and images of the restoration work in progress are displayed in the gallery.

A personalized cover is included.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage and shows registration in North Carolina beginning in August 2026.
