1990 Chevrolet 454 SS

This 1990 Chevrolet 454 SS pickup was purchased by the seller from the reported second owner in 2023 and now shows 69k miles. Powered by a 454ci V8 linked to a three-speed automatic transmission and a locking rear differential, the truck is finished in Onyx Black over red cloth. The short-bed truck is equipped with the 454 SS package, which added separate oil and transmission fluid coolers as well as a heavy-duty radiator, a larger front sway bar, quick-ratio steering, Bilstein shocks, and a black-finished front grille. Additional equipment includes 15″ American Racing wheels, sport bucket seats, cruise control, power windows, and a JVC CD stereo. This 454 SS is offered with an owner’s manual, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.

The 454 SS was only available in a standard-cab short-bed configuration, and this example is finished in Onyx Black with a matching grille, front bumper, and rear roll pan. Additional exterior details include a red bowtie grille badge, silver and red 454 SS graphics, and a front spoiler with integrated fog lights as well as window tint film, a sliding rear window, a drop-in bedliner, and dual exhaust outlets. The paint on the hood is faded, and other blemishes can be seen in the gallery below.

The 15″ American Racing wheels are mounted with 275/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, and stopping power is provided by front discs and anti-lock rear drums. All 454 SS examples were equipped with the Performance Handling Package, which included a 32mm front sway bar, a 12.7:1 steering ratio, and Bilstein dampers.

The bolstered high-back bucket seats are trimmed in red cloth and complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Amenities include a locking center console, a JVC CD stereo, cruise control, and power windows and door locks. The air conditioning does not blow cold, and the door armrests are loose.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 69k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The fuel-injected 454ci V8 was rated at 230 horsepower and 385 lb-ft of torque when new. A heavy-duty radiator along with engine oil and transmission fluid coolers were standard equipment on the 454 SS.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a THM-400 three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 3.73:1 final drive ratio.

The Carfax report is free from accidents or other damage.
