Approximately 7,000 Escort RS Cosworths were produced over a seven-year production run in order to homologate the car for entry into World Rally Championship Group A events. This car is finished in white and features a vented hood, a sunroof, a raised rear wing, a decklid spoiler, flared fenders, clear taillight lenses, and pop-out quarter windows. A lip spoiler and “hockey sticks” have been added, while the inner left headlight and the fog lamps have been removed for additional cooling. The bumpers have been refinished, per the seller. Flaws in the finish are shown in the gallery below.

Center-lock 19″ wheels are finished in white and mounted with 235/35 Flaken FK452 tires. GAZ coilovers are installed at each corner, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with Brembo calipers up front along with ABS and braided stainless-steel lines.

The cabin has been outfitted with a pair of OMP fixed-back fiberglass seats trimmed in black vinyl with orange centers and stitching, the latter of which extends to the Alcantara-trimmed dashboard, center console, and door panels. Additional appointments include a Pioneer CD stereo, an orange shift boot, and power windows. The air conditioning system has been removed.

The Sparco steering wheel features an orange centering stripe and frames a carbon-fiber instrument surround housing a 270-km/h speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature, while supplementary readouts are mounted atop the center stack. An AutoMeter shift light and boost gauge have been installed along with a GReddy boost controller, a PLX air/fuel ratio gauge, and an exhaust temperature gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 29k kilometers (~18k miles), though the selling dealer believes it has rolled over.

The Cosworth 2.0-liter DOHC inline-four features four valves per cylinder and has been modified with a Holset turbocharger, a TiAL wastegate, and a cold air intake. A Bailey Motorsports aluminum coolant reservoir has been installed along with a carbon-fiber cam belt cover, heat shielding, strut tower brace, and strut mount caps. The engine has reportedly been fitted with Wössner forged pistons, Arrow H-beam connecting rods, and ARP head studs along with a dry-sump lubrication system, stainless-steel headers, and a Simons exhaust system. Fluid changes were performed in 2025.

Power is sent to all four wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle, which was reportedly rebuilt with heavy-duty internals and a Helix Autosport clutch. An upgraded front differential housing and upgraded driveshafts have reportedly been installed.
