1973 Husqvarna 450 CR Desert Master

This 1973 Husqvarna 450 CR Desert Master was sold new in California and remained with its original owner, who refurbished the bike in 2020, until it was acquired by the current owner in 2021 in California and subsequently relocated to Virginia. Power comes from a 456cc two-stroke single paired with a five-speed transmission, and the bike is finished in yellow with polished fenders and accents. Details include a black solo seat, a chrome cross-braced handlebar, a kick starter, a compression release lever, an upswept exhaust system, Akront alloy rims, a side stand, yellow number plates, and polished high-mounted fenders. This 450 CR Desert Master is now offered with a Virginia title in the seller’s name, identifying the bike as a 1974 model year.

The bike was refinished under prior ownership, with the fuel tank in yellow and polished knee panels. The half-duplex chromoly steel frame is finished in silver, and other bike features include a black vinyl-upholstered solo seat, a side stand, polished fenders, and yellow plastic front and side number plates. The circular air cleaner on the right side of the bike is finished in silver to match the frame.

Akront alloy rims measure 21″ up front and 18″ out back and are laced to drum-brake hubs and wear Barum Desert Racing knobby tires. Suspension is provided by a conventional telescopic fork as well as a pair of adjustable shocks mounted to the swingarm.

The chrome cross-braced handlebar carries black grips, bright levers, and a twist throttle. No instrumentation is fitted, and total mileage is unknown.

The two-stroke 456cc single is said to have been rebuilt under prior ownership and is equipped with a kick starter, a compression release lever, and a high-mounted exhaust system with a perforated heat shield.

The engine number tag is found above, and the frame VIN stamp sequence MK01109 is shown in the gallery.

Power is sent to the rear wheel through a left-side-shifted five-speed transmission and a drive chain.

Photos showing work completed under prior ownership are captured in the gallery.

The sale includes an owner’s manual and prior registration documentation.
