3.6L-Powered 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet G50

This white-over-blue 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet was modified under previous ownership with a Euro 993-specification 3.6-liter flat six as well as a lightweight flywheel, a Quaife limited-slip differential, an RS-style heater duct, 993 Turbo-specification “Big Red” calipers, and aftermarket suspension components. It was acquired by the selling dealer’s father on BaT in September 2018, and work before the selling dealer’s purchase in 2024 is said to have consisted of installing an updated air conditioning system, a 993-style throttle linkage, a fabricated exhaust system, blue seatbelts, and an aftermarket shifter. Equipment includes a G50 five-speed manual transaxle, 17″ Fikse Fuchs-style wheels, a blue soft top, power-adjustable front seats, a Continental CD stereo, and a MOMO steering wheel. This Carrera cabriolet was sold to the seller’s client before the seller repurchased it in 2025, and it now shows 80k miles. It is now offered in Illinois with a clean Carfax report and a clean Florida title.

The car is finished in Grand Prix White, and it has been retrofitted with aftermarket lightweight bumpers and fabricated tubular bumper supports. Additional details consist of a replacement blue soft top, a convertible top boot, a lower front spoiler, and heated power-adjustable side mirrors. There are cracks in the paint on the rear bumper cover, and additional photos of the paint and trim are viewable in the gallery below.

The 17″ Fikse Fuchs-style wheels feature body-color centers, and they are mounted with staggered-width Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The brake system was retrofitted with 993 Turbo-specification “Big Red” calipers and rotors at all four corners under previous ownership, and Bilstein dampers, a Rennline front strut tower brace, and aftermarket suspension components were installed.

The cabin features power-adjustable front seats upholstered in blue leather. An updated air conditioning system consisting of a replacement compressor, evaporator, blower, vents, and supplemental condensers has been installed, according to the selling dealer, and additional interior modifications include blue seatbelts, an aluminum shifter assembly, and a Continental CD stereo head unit linked with an aftermarket amplifier and speakers. Further details include power windows, power height adjustment for the seats, and a locking glove box. The selling dealer tells us that the driver’s door skin was removed and reinstalled when the door check strap was replaced, and the door wiring, power window mechanism, and mirror system are said to have been refurbished at that time.

The MOMO Prototipo steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 170-mph speedometer, a Quarz clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 80k miles.

The 3.6-liter flat-six features a VarioRam intake system and was reportedly sourced from a Euro-spec 993 and installed in the early 2000s by Instant-G in New Castle, Delaware. An RS-style carbon-fiber heater duct, an aftermarket air cleaner, a Mocal oil cooler, and a lightweight flywheel were installed under current ownership. The selling dealer tells us that a cable-operated 993-style throttle linkage from Patrick Motorsports was installed following the 2018 auction. The oil was most recently changed in November 2025.

The G50 five-speed manual transaxle sends power to the rear wheels through a Quaife limited-slip differential. The transaxle was overhauled with replacement synchronizers under previous ownership, and the selling dealer tells us that Billy Boat headers and a fabricated stainless-steel exhaust system with custom heater crossover tubing were installed following the 2018 auction.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other reported damage.
