Turbocharged 2JZ–Powered 1989 Nissan 240SX XE Coupe 6-Speed at No Reserve

This 1989 Nissan 240SX XE coupe was acquired by the seller’s brother as a rolling project for both of them in 2022 and was subsequently fitted with a 3.0L 2JZ-GE inline-six equipped with a single GT35 turbocharger and mated to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission. Refinished in Ocean Jade Metallic, the car is noted to have been further modified with JE pistons, Brian Crower camshafts, Bosch fuel injectors, a front-mount intercooler, and an AEM Series 2 engine management system as well as a Silvia-style front fascia, 18″ Enkei alloy wheels, Fortune Auto 500 coilovers, and Wilwood and ROFU brake calipers. Inside, the seating surfaces were reupholstered in black leather and suede and are accompanied by a factory head-up display, a NISMO steering wheel, AEM auxiliary gauges, a Kenwood head unit, and a custom audio system. Previously offered on BaT in November 2025, this modified S13 240SX is now offered again at no reserve by the seller on behalf of their brother with a build book, spare parts, a car cover, a Carfax report, and a Montana title in the current owner’s name.

The car was refinished in Ocean Jade Metallic under previous ownership, at which time a Silvia-style front fascia was installed. Details include a front splitter, projector headlights, hood vents, a sunroof, a rear spoiler, and an LED multi-color underglow light kit. The seller tells us that the driver’s side headlight needs adjustment. Dents are noted in the trunk lid, and the Carfax report lists a damage report entry in December 1999. The photos provided in the listing and in the gallery below were taken in April 2025, and ~1,300 miles have accrued since.

Black-finished 18″ Enkei alloy wheels are wrapped in 235/40 front and 245/40 rear Nitto Neo Gen tires. The suspension features Fortune Auto 500 coilovers, a Sikky Manufacturing front sway bar, a Megan Racing rear sway bar, polyurethane bushings, Megan Racing tie rods, and GKTech ball joints. ISR Performance wheel bearings are noted to have been fitted, and the manually operated braking system features Wilwood calipers up front and ROFU 300ZX-style calipers out back.

The front bucket seats and bolstered rear bench were retrimmed in black leather with teal diamond-stitched suede inserts, and color-matching material extends to the headliner, glove compartment door, and door panels. Rubberized floor mats line the footwells, and appointments include a carpeted dash mat, custom center stack trim, and a Bluetooth-capable Kenwood head unit linked to an Alpine amplifier and a 10″ Image Dynamics subwoofer. The battery has been relocated to the trunk and is equipped with a safety cutoff switch. The seller states that various uninstalled air conditioning system lines are needed to complete the system and are included in the sale.

The NISMO steering wheel sits ahead of a digital speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. A factory head-up display projects the speed onto the windshield, and a three-gauge pod housing readouts for oil pressure, boost pressure, and air/fuel ratio is mounted to the A-pillar. The six-digit odometer shows 135k miles, approximately 7k of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 3.0L 2JZ-GE inline-six was installed in 2022 and is fitted with a 70mm GT35 turbocharger. The block and cylinder head are noted to have been machined, and piston oil squirters were added. The seller tells us the following components were retrofitted:

  • JE  8.4:1 compression pistons and rings
  • Brian Crower 264 camshafts, valve springs, shims, & Titanium retainers
  • Cometic cylinder head gasket & ARP studs
  • Gates high-performance water pump & timing belt kit
  • Moroso oil separator
  • CX Racing T4 exhaust manifold
  • TiAL 44mm wastegate
  • TiAL Q-Series 50mm blow-off valve
  • Front-mount intercooler
  • Kirban Performance fuel pressure regulator
  • Bosch EV-14 1000cc fuel injectors
  • Pro TunerZ intake manifold & 90mm throttle body
  • Napol Performance ignition coil packs
  • ATI Super Damper harmonic balancer
  • Powerhouse Racing billet pulley kit
  • Aluminum radiator w/dual electric cooling fans
  • Mishimoto 154-degree thermostat
  • AEM Series 2 engine management system
  • AEM air temp sensor, oxygen sensor, and 3.5-bar MAP sensor
  • AEM boost solenoid & EGT sensor
  • Wiring Specialties harness

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec T56 Magnum-F six-speed manual transmission coupled with a McLeod Racing Street Pro clutch, a custom-fabricated driveline, and performance CV shafts. The seller notes that the differential was serviced in early 2025. A 14-gallon fuel cell with a Walbro 450 fuel pump and a Holley pump hanger has been fitted, and the stainless steel 3″ exhaust system features a MagnaFlow resonator and muffler.

The Carfax report shows the aforementioned damage report.

The current Motana title was signed, dated, and notarized in March 2024.
