This 1981 Porsche 911SC coupe remained registered in California until it was acquired by the seller in 2021, and it was subsequently relocated to Oregon. Work under current ownership included overhauling the 3.0-liter flat-six, along with installing a Classic Retrofit CDI+ digital ignition unit, a CSF oil cooler, revised suspension and exhaust components, LED lighting, a MOMO steering wheel, a Rennshift performance shifter, and a replacement clutch and brake components. Finished in Rosewood Metallic over Champagne leather, the car is equipped with a five-speed manual transaxle, 16″ Fuchs alloy wheels, a sunroof, air conditioning, power windows, and a Continental Bluetooth stereo head unit. This 911SC coupe is now offered with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, an owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Rosewood Metallic, and exterior equipment includes a sunroof, rear stone guards, and dual side mirrors. LED headlight and fog light bulbs have been added, along with an LED third brake light strip in the rear window. Close-up photos of the exterior condition and imperfections on the front end and mirror caps are viewable in the gallery below.

The 16″ Fuchs wheels with black centers are mounted with staggered-width Continental ExtremeContact tires. The suspension has been modified under current ownership with a QuickChange spring plate kit and spring plate rubber bushing kit sourced from Elephant Racing, along with a front strut tower brace. Replacement Bilstein rear shocks have been installed, along with replacement brake calipers, pads, rotors, and hoses sourced from PMB Performance. The front and rear anti-sway bar links and the front shock bushings were replaced in 2023.

The front bucket seats have been reupholstered in Champagne leather and are complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Sisal mats line the footwells, and additional appointments include a center console, air conditioning, power windows, and a Continental Bluetooth head unit with hands-free phone connectivity. A Rennshift performance shifter and LED interior lighting have been added, and a revised fuse panel with modern-style fuses was installed under current ownership. A Griffiths Technical Inc. air conditioning upgrade package was installed circa 2023, and a Griffiths front condenser and blower were installed the following year.

The leather-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering wheel frames a central tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline as well as a 150-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for oil level, oil temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 124k miles, approximately 14k of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.0-liter flat-six was removed to address a broken head stud in 2022, and it was subsequently rebuilt. The seller tells us that Mahle pistons and cylinders were sourced, and additional work included 20/21-specification camshaft regrinds from Web Cam Inc., along with installing a CSF oil cooler, a Classic Retrofit CDI+ digital ignition unit, and replacement fuel injectors. A replacement starter and alternator were installed in 2023.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. A replacement clutch, release arm, and gearbox input shaft seal were installed in 2021. An M&K stainless-steel catalytic converter bypass pipe and a Dansk rear muffler were fitted in 2022. Additional photos of the underside condition are viewable in the gallery.

The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity lists a production completion date of April 5th 1981, as well as serial numbers, colors, and optional equipment. An owner’s manual, the removed catalytic converter, a tool kit, and parts and service records are included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other reported damage from an initial update in July 1991.
