16k-Mile 1998 BMW M3 Convertible 5-Speed

This 1998 BMW M3 convertible was purchased by the seller on BaT in June 2024 and has 16k miles. It was specified in Cosmos Black Metallic over black Nappa leather, and it was optioned with 17″ Style 24 wheels, heated power-adjustable sport seats, cruise control, and a Harman Kardon sound system. It is powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a black convertible soft top, a removable hardtop, fog lights, a cassette stereo, and dual-zone climate control.  This E36 M3 convertible is offered with a window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Cosmos Black Metallic (303) and features a power-operated black soft top, a removable hardtop, fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, and factory aerodynamic bumpers, side sills, and mirrors. The hardtop headliner was replaced under current ownership, and close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.

Staggered-width 17″ Style 24 wheels are fitted with Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires showing date codes from 2021 and 2022. The car is equipped with a sport-tuned suspension, traction control, and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes. An alignment was performed in September 2026.

The power-adjustable and heated front sport seats are upholstered in black Nappa leather with tri-color accents. M3-branded mats line the front footwells, and additional features include cruise control, an onboard computer, a cassette stereo, a Harman Kardon sound system, a wind deflector, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The air conditioning system has been recently recharged.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 16k miles.

The 3.2-liter S52B32 inline-six was factory-rated at 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The oil pan gasket was replaced in 2026.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Competition & Sports Cars, Ltd. in Greenwich, Connecticut, along with factory colors, standard features, options, and a total suggested retail price of $51,315.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
