3.8L-Powered 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe 5-Speed

This 1992 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 coupe spent nearly two decades in North Carolina before it was acquired by the seller in 2021 and was subsequently refurbished and modified under current ownership. Work included rebuilding the flat-six and increasing the displacement to 3.8-liters, servicing the five-speed manual transaxle and brakes, overhauling the steering, replacing the suspension, repairing the climate control system, and installing a new sound system, in addition to replacing the wiring harness, tires, and more as detailed below. Finished in Slate Grey Metallic over Light Grey leather, the car features billet “Super Sport” camshafts, Mahle RS pistons and cylinders, an FVD Brombacher Cup Pipe, a Steve Wong ECU chip, two-way adjustable MCS coilovers, antilock disc brakes, 17″ Fikse Fuchs Replica wheels, 9Eleven LED headlights, a power sunroof, a GT Racing RS-style decklid, power-adjustable front seats, air conditioning, power windows, and a Blaupunkt stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. This 964 C2 coupe shows 56k miles and is offered with ~$100k+ of build records, an owner’s manual, a clean Carfax report, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in Slate Grey Metallic (23F). Exterior details include fog lights, 9Eleven LED projector-style headlights, heated power-adjustable side mirrors, a steel sunroof, a rear window wiper, and a color-matched GT Racing RS-style carbon-fiber decklid. The seller suspects that the hood and driver door were refinished under previous ownership, and the rear bumper cover and side mirror caps were repainted under current ownership. The seller notes that a CQuartz Finest Reserve ceramic coating was applied to the full vehicle in December 2024. Paint meter readings are presented in the gallery.

The 17″ Fikse Fuchs Replica (FFR) wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires. The custom lowered suspension setup by Tarett Engineering features Elephant Racing control arm bushings and adjustable MCS 2WNR coilovers. Antilock braking is handled by refinished four-piston calipers over a ventilated rotor at each corner. Service since 2022 included rebuilding the steering rack, installing a steering rack reinforcement, and replacing the power steering pump, front sway bar bushings, and rear wheel bearings.

The power-adjustable front seats and folding individual rear seats are upholstered in Light Grey leather. Appointments include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and a Bluetooth-capable Blaupunkt stereo linked to replacement speakers. The climate control unit and servo motors were overhauled under current ownership.

The leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as a 180-mph speedometer, a Quarz analog clock, and gauges for oil level, oil pressure, oil temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.

The displacement of the air-cooled flat-six was increased to 3.8 liters during a rebuild completed in 2023 by Import Auto Haus/Potzinger Rewerks in Huntington Station, New York. The fuel, electrical, and ignition systems were overhauled, and the engine was modified with billet “Super Sport” camshafts, Mahle RS pistons and cylinders, an FVD Brombacher Cup Pipe, and a Steve Wong ECU chip. Additional replacement parts and components installed during the build are detailed in the service records.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The clutch hose, slave cylinder, release lever bearing, and transaxle mounts were replaced under current ownership. Additional underside photos are presented in the gallery.
