This 1965 Studebaker Wagonaire Daytona was acquired by the seller in 2022, and subsequent work included applying a clear coat, replacing brake and steering components, updating interior trim and upholstery, and detailing the engine. Powered by a 283ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, the wagon is finished in tan with a white vinyl roof wrap over black vinyl upholstery. Features include a retractable sliding rear roof section, 15″ steel wheels, power steering, power-assisted drum brakes, lap belts, and a tow hitch. The car is said to have been first sold in Chicago before later spending time in California and then relocating to Massachusetts around 2020. This Wagonaire is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, partial service records, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in tan with a white vinyl wrap on the roof, and a clear coat was applied in August 2026. Exterior equipment includes a retractable rear roof, roof rails, quad headlights, and a tow hitch. Wrinkles are noted on the roof vinyl near the rain gutters, rust bubbles are present on the left front splash pan, and evidence of previously treated rust is visible on the lower inside doors.

Steel 15″ wheels wear covers and are mounted with 205/75 Cooper Trendsetter tires. The car is equipped with power steering and power-assisted drum brakes. The steering kingpins, turnbuckle, and brake components were replaced in December 2023, and a replacement brake master cylinder was installed in 2025. Play in the steering box is noted by the seller.

The Wagonaire was based on the standard Lark station wagon and features a manually retractable sliding rear roof section that locks into place above the passenger compartment. The fold-down tailgate is equipped with an integrated step bar as well as a manual-crank window.

The bench seats are upholstered in black vinyl and received replacement buttons in 2026. Color-coordinated carpets were installed in 2024, the cargo area carpet was dyed in 2025, and the rear door sill plates were replaced in 2026. A custom headliner was installed in 2024, and the front section was dyed the following year. Interior appointments include a custom Vintage Auto Gear center console, lap belts, a cabin heater, and rubber floor mats. The AM radio is inoperative, and the driver’s door window is loose on its track and intermittently catches when rolled up.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 62k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The 283ci V8 was factory-equipped with a two-barrel carburetor and was rated at 195 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. It was detailed and painted in 2025. The fuel sending unit, fuel lines, and filler hose were replaced in December 2023.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Rust is noted on the underbody components, and the floor on the driver’s side was patched and reinforced with fiberglass. The exhaust system was realigned to repair a leak in preparation for the sale.
