27-Years-Owned 1967 Alfa Romeo 1600 Spider Duetto

This 1967 Alfa Romeo 1600 Spider Duetto was acquired by the current owner in 1999 and driven an estimated 80k miles over their 27 years with it. Work as part of a mid-2010s refurbishment involved a repaint in red and an interior re-trim in black upholstery as well as rebuilds of the 1,570cc twin-cam inline-four and five-speed manual transmission. The car wears a replacement black soft top and is further equipped with Carello-branded headlamp covers, 14″ Campagnolo alloy wheels, dual Weber carburetors, and an Alpine CD stereo. This S1 Spider is now offered on dealer consignment with a collection of vehicle literature, service records, spare parts, a car cover, a removable roll bar, and a replacement Iowa title.

The car was fitted with a replacement black convertible top in 2007, underwent bodywork to repair damage from a rear-end collision in 2009, and was repainted circa 2015. A bullet-style mirror is affixed to the driver-side fender, and further details include Carello-branded headlamp covers, Pininfarina quarter-panel badging, and stainless-steel bumpers. There is a tear in the soft top.

The 14″ Campagnolo alloy wheels were mounted with 195/60 Hankook Kinenergy tires in 2021. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at each corner.

The bucket seats were re-trimmed in black upholstery under current ownership. An Alpine CD stereo is installed in the dash, and further appointments include a cabin heater, a lockable glovebox, and quarter-vent windows. The rear bulkhead features mounting points for a removable roll bar, which can be viewed installed at the end of the gallery.

A three-spoke steering wheel is paired with a floor-mounted shifter and fronts Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles, and the owner estimates that they have accumulated roughly 80k miles in their 27 years of ownership. The speedometer cable was changed in 2010 and the unit was recalibrated in 2016. The selling dealer states that true mileage is unknown.

Factory rated at 125 horsepower and 115 lb-ft of torque, the 1,570cc twin-cam inline-four breathes through dual Weber carburetors and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The transmission was rebuilt in 2014, while the engine was rebuilt a year later in 2015. Subsequent work involved re-coring the radiator in 2019, overhauling the carburetors in 2022, replacing the flywheel and fuel pump in 2024, and installing a replacement starter in 2026.
