This 1970 Plymouth Duster was owned by the same Ohio family from 1976 until August 2026, when it was acquired by the selling dealer. Modified and tubbed into a street/strip machine in the 1980s, the metallic-blue car is powered by a 340ci V8 that features a Direct Connection hydraulic camshaft and lifters, an Offenhauser intake manifold, a Holley 750-cfm carburetor, dual Carter fuel pumps, and Hooker headers. Other equipment includes a four-speed manual transmission, a Schiefer flywheel, and a Dana 60 rear end with 5.13:1 gearing as well as staggered-width Center Line 15″ wheels, front disc brakes, a fiberglass Six Pack hood, fiberglass bumpers, late-model bucket seats, a roll cage, Sun gauges, a Hurst shifter, and a trunk-mounted fuel cell. This modified Duster is now offered in North Carolina at no reserve with service records dating back to the 1980s, notes from prior ownership, and an Ohio title.

The Valiant-based Duster coupe was introduced in late 1969 for the 1970 model year. This example has been repainted in two-tone metallic blue, and it features black body-side stripes and Duster 340 graphics.

The Six Pack–style scooped hood and the bumpers are constructed of fiberglass. The hood and the trunk lid are secured in place by four pins apiece. The door skins and the wheel wells are made of aluminum. The vehicle lacks windshield wipers, turn signals, and side mirrors. Notes that will accompany the car indicate that it weighs approximately 2,700 pounds wet.

The rear wheel wells have been tubbed to accommodate 30×11.5″ M&H tires that are mounted on Center Line 15×10″ wheels. The 15×3.5″ front Center Line “runner” wheels are wrapped in 26×7.5″ Mickey Thompson rubber. The front brakes were converted to a disc setup in 2017, and drums are retained at the rear. Gabriel Pro shocks are installed, and supplementary frame connectors have been added.

The dual exhaust system terminates ahead of the rear axle.

The tubbed rear wheel wells and the roll cage are visible in the trunk compartment, which houses the fuel cell and the battery.

The late-model bucket seats are upholstered in gray cloth; the rear seat has been removed. A custom dashboard is fitted along with a six-point roll cage, a T-handle Hurst shifter, gray carpeting, and Kilmat insulation.

An aftermarket steering wheel fronts Sun instrumentation for vacuum pressure, water temperature, and oil pressure plus a tachometer. The vehicle lacks an odometer, and true mileage is unknown.

The aforementioned components from Mark Williams Enterprises were sourced in 1981, per the invoice pictured above. Other records and notes from previous long-term ownership are presented in the photo gallery below.
The Ohio title has a “Historical Vehicle License Issued 1995” stamp.
