1972 Fiat 500F Jolly Conversion

This 1972 Fiat 500F was acquired by the seller in 2024 and converted to resemble a Jolly model by the seller’s shop in Italy. The car is finished in orange and features “frog eye” headlamps, tubular bumpers and grab rails, wicker seating, and a removable striped surrey top. Power is from an air-cooled inline-twin that is noted to have been rebuilt to displace over 600cc, while shifting is through a four-speed manual transaxle. This Jolly-style 500 is now offered out of Ventimiglia di Sicilia with an owner’s manual, a car cover, and Italian registration in the seller’s name.

The body was modified in the style of a Jolly model and repainted orange as part of the aforementioned build. The car is fitted with a removable striped surrey top along with tubular bumpers and grab rails, and a luggage rack with a wicker basket is affixed to the engine lid out back.

“Frog eye” headlamps styled after those found on the US-market 500 America have been retrofitted up front.

The body-color 12″ steel wheels are mounted with 125-width Vee Rubber whitewall tires. The suspension and drum brakes were overhauled as part of the refurbishment.

The open cabin houses wicker seating as well as wood-slat mats over black carpets below. A set of striped cushions will accompany the car, and further details include a heater, a dash-mounted mirror, and an under-dash storage cubby.

A two-spoke steering wheel fronts a refurbished Veglia Borletti 120-km/h speedometer with suggested shift points and an array of warning lights. The five-digit odometer was reset upon completion of the Jolly conversion and now shows 2 kilometers.

The air-cooled inline-twin is said to have been modified to displace over 600cc as part of a year-long rebuild completed in August 2026.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.

Photos taken at various stages of the project are shown below in the gallery.

The vehicle is being sold on its Italian registration, which serves as an ownership document in Italy.
