Single-Family-Owned 1974 International Harvester Scout II 345 4×4 Project at No Reserve

This 1974 International Harvester Scout II Traveltop is a running project that was purchased new by the seller’s father and is said to have remained off the road for over a decade. It is finished in green over Sage nylon and vinyl and is powered by a 345ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a Dana 20 two-speed transfer case. Equipment includes a removable Traveltop hardtop, sliding rear side windows, a luggage rack, power steering, manually locking front hubs, 15″ alloy wheels, front bucket seats, a folding rear bench, and air conditioning. The fuel system on the truck will require service. This Scout II is now offered with a window sticker, the line-setting ticket, and a clean Montana title in the seller’s name.

The truck was repainted in green in the 90’s, per the seller. The finish is accented with a white removable Traveltop hardtop and side decals. Further, exterior details include a Western snow plow mount, round headlights, a vertical-slot grille, front vent windows, sliding rear side windows, a luggage rack, a split tailgate, and chrome exterior trim, rear bumper, and side mirrors. Areas of corrosion on the rocker panels and lower rear quarter panels are shown in detail in the gallery, along with additional imperfections.

The 15″ aluminum wheels are mounted with Pathfinder Radial ATR tires. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs and power steering. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes.

The cabin houses front bucket seats and a folding rear bench trimmed in Sage nylon and vinyl. Additional equipment includes a wooden storage box between the front seats, padded door panels, manual crank windows, and an air conditioning system. There is corrosion in the right corner of the rear cargo area.

The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a tilting steering column and fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles.

The 345ci V8 was factory rated at 197 horsepower and 309 lb-ft of torque. The seller notes that the truck has not been driven since the 90’s, and fuel has to be pushed into the carburetor to get the truck to start. The seller notes that the fuel lines will require replacement.

Power is routed through a three-speed automatic transmission and a Dana 20 two-speed transfer case.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Denver, Colorado, along with equipment and a total suggested retail price of $6,143.50.
