This 1964 Ford Galaxie 500XL convertible was mechanically refurbished and modified around 2022 by its previous owner, who is believed to have acquired the car from it original owner. The build included installing a 351 Windsor-based 408ci stoker V8 equipped with FiTech fuel injection and linked to a 4R70W four-speed automatic transmission and a narrowed 8.8″ rear axle with 4.10:1 gearing. Supporting modifications include a replacement power steering box, power-assisted four-wheel discs, CalTracs traction bars, upgraded cooling components, and polished 17″ American Racing Torq Thrust wheels. The interior was refreshed with a modern stereo and replacement carpeting. Finished in Skylight Blue over a color-coordinated interior, the car also features a replacement black soft top, headers, and a dual exhaust system. This Galaxie 500XL is now offered in North Carolina by the selling dealer with the owner’s manual and a Virginia title.

The seller states that the Skylight Blue (Y) exterior has received touch-ups over the years and that the soft top was replaced during the 2022 work. Holley LED headlights are also fitted. Paint imperfections are shown in the gallery.

The 17″ polished American Racing Torq Thrust wheels are mounted with Riken Raptor ZR tires measuring 225/50 front and 255/50 rear. The suspension and braking system were upgraded as part of the mechanical refurbishment, with power-assisted disc brakes fitted at all four corners and Wilwood calipers used up front. CalTrac traction bars have been installed out back.

The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in two-tone blue vinyl and a console. A digital radio has been installed in the dashboard, the cover of which displays splits. An MSD controller is mounted in the glove box.

The driver is provided an aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel and digital gauges. The digital odometer shows 1,624 miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 408ci stroker V8 is believed to be based on a 1994–96 351 Windsor and was installed around 2022. The build includes FiTech fuel injection, an Edelbrock Torker 2 351W intake manifold, an HEI distributor, Ford Racing engine dress-up components, an aluminum radiator, and dual electric cooling fans.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a 4R70W four-speed automatic transmission, a custom driveshaft, and a narrowed 8.8″ rear axle with 4.10:1 gearing and a G2 cover. Headers are linked to a dual exhaust system.
