LS3-Powered 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62

This 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser spent over two decades in California and was modified under previous ownership before the seller’s acquisition on BaT in May 2022. Finished in white over gray upholstery, it is powered by a 6.2-liter Chevrolet E-Rod LS3 V8 linked to a Chevrolet Performance SuperMatic four-speed automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case. Equipment includes a short-ram air intake, an aluminum radiator, a Magnaflow exhaust system, manually locking front hubs, an Old Man Emu suspension lift, front disc brakes, 15″ steel wheels, chrome bumpers, air conditioning, Speedhut instrumentation, power windows, a rearview camera, and a Pioneer touchscreen infotainment system linked to a custom sound system. Service under current ownership consisted of replacing the air filter and battery. This FJ62 is offered with an accident-free Carfax report and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

The body is finished in aged white paint, and the seller notes areas of corrosion under the windshield and the bottom right corner of the rear hatch. Exterior details include quad rectangular Hella H4 headlights, power-adjustable side mirrors, a split tailgate, a rear windshield wiper, taillight guards, chrome bumpers, and mud flaps. The power antenna goes up but does not retract.

Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels are mounted with 31×10.5″ BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs and an Old Man Emu suspension lift. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums. Work performed in 2021 reportedly included replacing the front hub seals, front rotors and pads, and rear sway bar bushings.

The front bucket seats and folding rear bench are upholstered in striped gray cloth with contrasting vinyl accents and headrests. Equipment includes air conditioning, power windows, a rearview camera, and a Pioneer touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay linked to a custom sound system with an amplifier and Bass-Maxx subwoofer housed in the cargo area. The left rear door unlocks intermittently when using the power locks, and the front passenger window moves slowly.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames Speedhut gauges that include a 100-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel level, and voltage. The tachometer does not work. The digital odometer indicates 6k miles, approximately 4k of which were driven under current ownership. The Carfax report notes a potential odometer rollback in November 2021 following an entry showing 239k miles, and total mileage is unknown.

The 6.2-liter LS3 E-Rod V8 was reportedly installed in 2021 and features a short-ram air intake system, an aluminum radiator, twin electric pusher fans, and a Magnaflow exhaust system. The high-performance conical air filter and battery were replaced under current ownership.

Power is delivered to the rear or all four wheels through a Chevrolet Performance SuperMatic 4L75-E four-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The transmission fluid was changed, and the transmission control module was reprogrammed in 2022.

The Carfax report is free of accidents and other reported damage from the initial entry in January 1994 and notes the aforementioned potential odometer rollback in November 2021.
