2019 Velocity EXO-Silhouette

This Velocity EXO-Silhouette is a one-off build that was designed and constructed by the seller, Jay Taylor, prior to selling the Velocity EXO design to Flat Out Autos of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Completed in 2019 as a limited-production prototype, the car features a tubular steel TIG-welded external frame and a MIG-welded interior cage equipped with the 5.7-liter LS1 V8, T-56 six-speed manual transaxle, independent suspension, and disc brakes of a 34k-mile 1998 C5 Corvette donor car. It rides on 20″ Fuel Off-Road wheels and features LED lighting and dihedral door bars in addition to a removable roof panel and glass rear window. The open cabin is outfitted with heated bucket seats trimmed in black upholstery and has a MOMO steering wheel as well as a touchscreen head unit connected to dual marine speakers. Further equipment includes an aftermarket intake, a 12-gallon fuel cell, and a custom dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. This Velocity EXO-Silhouette is now offered with a salvage title for the donor Corvette and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name listing the car as a 2019 Assembled Vehicle.

The TIG-welded external frame was finished in PPG red paint and clearcoat as part of the build. It features black Haartz canvas panels for the removable top panel as well as for the forward surfaces and aft of the wheel wells. The glass rear window is also removable, and additional equipment includes LED lighting, ABS plastic inner fenders, dihedral door bars, and power-adjustable mirrors. The seller states that the car measures approximately 14′ long, 4′ tall, and 7’2″ wide and weighs approximately 2,500 pounds.

The 20″ Fuel Off-Road six-spoke wheels feature EXO-Silhouette-branded center caps, and they are mounted with 235/30 front and 345/25 rear Nitto Invo tires. The car is equipped with power steering as well as unassisted C5 Corvette–sourced disc brakes fed by a Wilwood dual-circuit master cylinder. The electronic parking brake is actuated via a switch on the center console.

The seller tells us that the open cabin is protected by a MIG-welded interior cage. The black leatherette–trimmed bucket seats were sourced from a 2010 Volkswagen Passat. They are both heated, and the driver-side unit is power-adjustable. The dash is trimmed in black vinyl with red stitching, while gray carpets line the floors below.

A 7″ touchscreen head unit with navigation functionality is installed below the dash along with dual Boss Audio marine speakers. Coolant-fed heaters are installed in the footwells, and further appointments include a push-button ignition and three-point seatbelts.

The MOMO steering wheel and shift knob are accompanied by a C5 Corvette electronic accelerator pedal as well as Wilwood clutch and brake pedals. The instrument cluster features a 10k-rpm tachometer flanked by gauges for engine temperature and fuel level, while a GPS-enabled digital speedometer is mounted next to the A-pillar atop the dashboard. The seller tells us that the navigation system has an odometer feature, though it has not been set up. They estimated having added approximately 200 miles since completion of the build, and total mileage is unknown.

The 5.7-liter LS1 V8 was sourced from the donor 1998 Chevrolet Corvette. An aftermarket intake and an aluminum radiator with Corvette dual electric cooling fans are fitted up front, while a 12-gallon fuel cell is installed out back. An oil change was performed in September 2026.

The exhaust system features a trio of Magnaflow mufflers including a crossover unit below the cabin.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Borg-Warner T-56 six-speed manual transaxle, and the car is further equipped with a Wilwood clutch master cylinder. The car rides on an independent suspension that incorporates QA1 adjustable coilovers up front as well as a C5 Corvette rear setup with an adjustable transverse leaf spring.

The frame is stamped with the sequence VE530619P032, and a Colorado Assigned Identification Number—IDCO001298ZZ—appears on a plate below. The car is titled as a 2019 Assembled Vehicle utilizing the latter sequence.
