This red-over-red 1963 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was acquired by the current owner’s late father in 1979 and is powered by a 327ci V8 paired with a replacement four-speed manual transmission. The car is equipped with a white convertible soft top, 15″ steel wheels with spinner-style hubcaps, AM radio, concealed headlights, a cabin heater, an analog clock, and lap belts. The transmission was replaced in December 2024, and additional work included rebuilding the flywheel and clutch cross shaft as well as replacing the wheels, tires, clutch assembly, rear main seal, carburetor, intake manifold, and ignition components. This C2 convertible is now offered by the selling dealer, a BaT local partner, on consignment with a Washington title.

The fiberglass body was finished at the factory in Riverside Red (923) and has been refinished. Features include a replacement white convertible soft top as well as flip-up headlamps, fender vents, quad tail lamps, chrome bumperettes, and dual exhaust tips that exit through the rear valance.

Silver-finished 15” steel wheels with three-eared knock-off spinner-style hubcaps and 215/70 Diamond Back Classic tires weremounted in 2024. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums.

The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in red vinyl as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include a heater, an analog clock, and lap belts. The shifter and linkage were replaced in December 2024.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline as well as gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 93k miles.

The 327ci V8 was serviced in December 2024 with a replacement intake manifold, valve covers, carburetor, thermostat, spark plugs, fuel pump, fuel lines, rear main seal, and hoses as well as the installation of an MSD control box, ignition coil, and PCV system.

The engine stamping is shown above.

A four-speed manual transmission is fitted in place of the factory three-speed in December 2024. Additional work performed at that time included rebuilding the flywheel and clutch cross shaft along with replacing the reverse idler gear, clutch assembly, clutch pushrod, and clutch fork.
