383-Powered 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 5-Speed

This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was modified under prior ownership with custom fiberglass bodywork, a repaint in blue, and the installation of a 383ci stroker V8 linked to a five-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential. The car is equipped with an L88-style hood, a custom nose panel with fixed quad headlights, a custom rear ducktail spoiler, a replacement white convertible soft top, side-exit exhaust pipes, 15″ Torq Thrust-style wheels, Steeroids power rack-and-pinion steering, and power-assisted front disc brakes. The cabin includes Vintage Air climate control, an aftermarket stereo, an aftermarket shifter, and a Grant GT steering wheel. Acquired by the seller in 2019, this modified C2 convertible is now offered with a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

The fiberglass body is finished in blue and features an L88-style hood, a custom nose panel with fixed quad headlights, and a custom rear tail panel with an integrated ducktail spoiler and dual-triple taillights. Exterior equipment includes a replacement white convertible soft top, fender vents, and side-exit exhaust pipes.

The 15″ Torq Thrust-style wheels are mounted with 225/70 BFGoodrich redline tires. Braking is handled by aftermarket power-assisted front discs. The car is equipped with Steeroids power rack and pinion steering, adjustable shocks, and a transverse composite mono leaf spring at the rear.

The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl as well as matching door panels and carpets. Amenities include Vintage Air climate control, an aftermarket stereo, an aftermarket shifter, an analog clock, and lap belts.

A Grant GT steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. A fuel pressure gauge is mounted underneath the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership. The speedometer and odometer are disconnected, and true mileage is unknown.

The 383ci stroker V8 was installed under prior ownership, and the seller tells us that it is equipped with a Proform 750-cfm four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, a gear-driven Comp Cams timing system, and Scorpion roller rockers. The MSD ignition system includes a Blaster HVC II ignition coil and a tach-drive distributor. Additional equipment includes tubular exhaust headers, aftermarket valve covers, a front-accessory drive system, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a close-ratio replacement five-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential.
