43-Years-Family-Owned 1964 International Harvester Scout 80 4×4

This 1964 International Harvester Scout 80 was purchased by the seller’s father in 1983 and underwent a refurbishment in 2023. Work included repainting the exterior, refinishing the frame, refreshing the interior, and replacing the axles. The truck rides on a lifted suspension with Bilstein shocks and is also equipped with 15″ steel wheels, a winch, a white hardtop, and lap belts. This Scout is now offered with the owner’s manual, spare parts, refurbishment photos, and Maine registration in the seller’s name.

During the refurbishment, the body was removed from the frame, the frame was refinished, rust on the body was removed, and the truck was repainted blue and white. Equipment includes a winch, black bumpers, and a white removable hardtop. The seller notes the doors, tailgate, and hardtop were sourced from a Scout 800.

The 15″ steel wheels are mounted with General Grabber tires. The truck is equipped with a 1.5″ suspension lift and Bilstein shocks.

The bench seat was reupholstered in black vinyl in 2023. Amenities include lap belts, black carpeted floor mats, and wind-up windows. The horn and door locks do not work.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts an 80-mph speedometer and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 73k miles.

The 152ci inline-four is equipped with a Pertronix electronic ignition, an aluminum radiator, and a 12-volt electrical system with an alternator. The carburetor, fuel pump, and fuel tank were replaced during the refurbishment.

Power is sent to the rear or all four wheels through a three-speed manual transmission, a twin-stick dual-range transfer case, a Powr-Lok limited-slip rear differential, and Dana axles sourced from a 1970 Scout.

Photos taken during the refurbishment are provided in the gallery.

The vehicle is sold with its Maine registration, which serves as an ownership document in that state and lists a VIN of 804x4FC83773A.
