1968 Ford Mustang Coupe

This 1968 Ford Mustang coupe is said to have spent time in Colorado before being purchased in 2018 by the seller. It was then refurbished in 2024, with work including refinishing the car in Meadowlark Yellow, fitting a replacement black vinyl top and matching interior, and commissioning a rebuild of the 289ci V8 and three-speed automatic transmission. The car features 14″ steel wheels, chrome bumpers, fog lights, front bucket seats, power steering, and an AM/FM radio. This Mustang coupe is now offered with and a clean Iowa title in the seller’s name.

The car has been refinished in Meadowlark Yellow (W) and features black pinstriping along the sides. The black vinyl roof and windshield are also said to have been replaced. Additional features include fog lights, chrome bumpers, rocker trim, and dual exhaust outlets.

The 14″ steel wheels wear polished trim rings and hubcaps and are mounted with 205/25 TBC Custom 428 A/S tires. Braking is handled by drums at each corner, and the car is equipped with power steering.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench that were reupholstered in black vinyl as part of the refurbishment. The carpet, door cards, and dash pad were also replaced. Appointments include lap belts, aftermarket speakers, and an aftermarket AM/FM radio.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames Classic Instruments gauges including a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The replacement five-digit odometer now shows 147 miles, and the seller estimates they have driven approximately 300 miles during their ownership.

The seller tells us the 289ci V8 was rebuilt in 2024, with work including a replacement camshaft, main bearings, pistons, and rings, as well as machining of the cylinder heads and replacement of the valves and seats. An Edelbrock carburetor was fitted along with Mustang-branded rocker covers and an aluminum coolant overflow tank.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission, which the seller notes was rebuilt with replacement clutches and seals.
