1957 Ford Thunderbird E-Code

This 1957 Ford Thunderbird is one of approximately 1,499 built for its model year with an E-code 312ci V8, which is equipped with dual four-barrel carburetors. Finished in white over red vinyl upholstery, it features a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission, a black convertible soft top, 14″ wire wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, and power steering. The car was previously listed on BaT in September 2022, and it was acquired by the seller in 2023. This Thunderbird is offered with a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

Finished at the factory in Colonial White (E), the car was repainted under previous ownership, and it has a black convertible soft top, a hood scoop, hooded headlights, faux fender louvers, tail fins, rear fender skirts with bright stone guards, and dual exhaust outlets integrated in the rear bumper. Some scratches in brightwork are reported.

Chrome-finished 14″ wire wheels wear spinner center caps and are mounted with 205/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires. The car is fitted with power-assisted steering and a rebuilt steering gearbox. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.

The bench is reupholstered in red vinyl, and the cabin has a heater and defroster, polished door sills, manual-crank windows, red lap belts, Thunderbird-branded rubber floor mats, and engine-turned aluminum accents on the doors and dashboard. The up/down power adjustment for the bench is not working, and the stereo turns on, but it does not get reception.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 61k miles, approximately 800 of which were added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The E-code 312ci V8 has dual Holley four-barrel carburetors, and it was factory rated at 270 horsepower. Work between 2018 and 2022 included rebuilding the carburetors, coating the exhaust manifolds, and adding an electric fuel pump. An oil change was completed in December 2025.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a three-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, which is said to have been rebuilt under previous ownership. A driveshaft seal leak was noted in the car’s previous BaT listing.
