This 1972 Volkswagen Super Beetle was acquired by the current owner in 1996 and now shows 80k miles. Finished in Texas Yellow over black leatherette, it is powered by an air-cooled 1.6L flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include a single downdraft carburetor, dual-port cylinder heads, drum brakes, 15″ steel wheels, chrome bumpers, a cabin heater, crank windows, and a Sony stereo linked to an Infinity sound system. This Super Beetle is offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with spare parts, service records, and a clean Oregon title in the owner’s name.

The body was refinished circa 2020 in Texas Yellow, and an area of the hood was touched up in 2026. Exterior details include a driver-side mirror, quarter vent windows, a louvered engine cover, and chrome bumpers. Close-up photos of the paint and trim can be viewed in the gallery.

Chrome-finished 15″ steel wheels wear chrome VW-stamped hubcaps and are wrapped in older Classic All Season tires with visible cracks. The car was factory equipped with a MacPherson strut and coil spring front suspension in place of the standard Beetle’s torsion bar setup. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums.

The front bucket seats and rear bench are upholstered in black leatherette. Appointments include a cabin heater, a wooden shift knob, crank windows, and a Sony stereo linked to Infinity speakers.

The four-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket wrap and features a Wolfsburg crest. Instrumentation consists of a 100-mph speedometer with an inset fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 80k miles.

The air-cooled 1.6L flat-four was factory rated at 60 horsepower and features an oil-bath air cleaner, a single downdraft carburetor, and dual-port cylinder heads. Weeping oil is visible on various engine components.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Additional underside photos are presented in the gallery.
