Japanese-Market 1992 BMW 850i

This Japanese-market 1992 BMW 850i reportedly spent time in Dubai, was imported to Canada in 2009, and was purchased by the seller on BaT in April 2025. Finished in Sterling Silver Metallic over black leather, it is powered by a 5.0-liter V12 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include MTS Technik lowering springs, antilock disc brakes, 18″ M Parallel wheels, pop-up headlights, heated power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, an onboard computer, and a Bluetooth-capable Alpine stereo. This E31 shows 106k kilometers (~66k miles) and is offered at no reserve with an owner’s manual, service records, a US Carfax report, and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.

The pillarless coupe is finished in Sterling Silver Metallic (244). The hood, roof, and left quarter panel were repainted under previous ownership, and the driver door and left quarter panel were blended following damage under current ownership. Exterior details include fog lights, pop-up headlights, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller notes that while the sunroof remains able to slide back fully as shown in a video provided below, the lifting track operation is nonfunctional. Spare lifting tracks accompany the sale although the necessary repairs have not been identified. The Carfax report has a damage report entry in June 2025, and photos showing the damage to the car prior to repairs are located at the end of the gallery.

Staggered-width 18″ Style 37 M Parallel wheels are mounted with Continental and Pirelli tires. The suspension is lowered on MTS Technik springs, and antilock braking is handled by four-wheel ventilated discs. The rear axle bushings and ball joints were replaced in 2024.

The heated power-adjustable front seats and individual rear seats are trimmed in black buffalo leather. Appointments include driver position memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, an onboard computer, and an Alpine CD stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. The power rear sunshade is inoperative. The removed factory radio is included in the sale.

The leather-wrapped airbag steering wheel is mounted on a power-adjustable column and frames a 300-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 106k kilometers (~66k miles), approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.0-liter M70B50 V12 was factory rated at 295 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. Service since 2023 included replacing the following components:

  • Lower oil pan gasket
  • Intake manifold gaskets
  • Valve cover gaskets
  • Spark plugs

The oil was changed under current ownership, and both batteries were replaced in 2026.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Rust is visible on the outer skin of the rear mufflers, but the system does not leak, according to the seller. Additional underside photos are presented in the gallery.

The US Carfax report has an initial entry in July 2009 and notes the aforementioned damage report in June 2025.

The current Minnesota title carries a notation reading, “This distinctive title may be subject to an undisclosed lien.”
