Xiaomi Is Going Global With the 18 Pro Series Later This Month

Xiaomi’s newest flagships are finally leaving China. In a post on X, Xiaomi said the Xiaomi 18 Pro series will launch globally this November. It didn’t give a date, a list of countries or prices.

That’s a change from last year, when the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max never left China. Xiaomi first hinted at a worldwide launch right after the phones debuted at home in September, and this is the first time it has named a month.

What the phones offer

Both models run Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chips, with the Pro Max getting the faster Extreme version. Each has two 200-megapixel Leica cameras, plus a small screen on the back that shows notifications and quick controls.

There’s also a privacy screen, similar to the one Samsung started with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Xiaomi’s version can react to your location and hide sensitive alerts, like banking notifications, automatically.

In China, the 18 Pro starts at 5,999 yuan and the 18 Pro Max at 6,999 yuan.

Where the rumors get less friendly

Global versions may not match the Chinese phones. Leaks suggest smaller batteries overseas, around 6,000mAh for the 18 Pro and 7,050mAh for the Pro Max, compared with 7,000mAh and 8,500mAh at home. Pricing rumors are the bigger shock.

Leaked European prices start around 1,400 to 1,450 euros for the 18 Pro, with the Pro Max near 1,800 euros. None of that is official. If the battery leaks hold, fans who like Xiaomi’s big batteries and fast charging may be disappointed. The country list matters as much as the date, too, since local launches usually bring warranty and carrier support.

Xiaomi’s post is the only official word so far, and everything about batteries and prices comes from leaks. Xiaomi hasn’t said which countries get the phones. Europe, the Americas and the Middle East are the markets people expect, and a U.S. release hasn’t been confirmed. Fans in India, Japan and the U.S. have been loudest about wanting them.

If you’ve been thinking about importing one, it’s worth holding off a few weeks. Xiaomi has until the end of November to announce the details, and a local launch could come with warranty and software support that imports lack.
