This 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera S coupe is one of a reported 60 Vesuvio Edition cars produced, all of which feature Vesuvio Metallic paintwork with Steel Grey accents. Initially delivered to the German market, the car later spent years in France, where it was purchased by the current owner two years ago while on holiday. The car was deposited in December 2024 at Elfer Porsche Classics in Zevenaar, The Netherlands, where a rebuild of the 3.6L M64 flat-six was carried out over the ensuing year. Work included machining the cylinder heads and replacing the timing chains, head studs, piston rings, main and rod bearings, and valves, guides, and seats. The car was subsequently imported into the US, and it now shows 140k kilometers (~87k miles). Optioned with xenon headlights, heated seats, a CDR-21 radio, and a Hi-Fi sound system, this RoW 993 C2S Vesuvio is offered on dealer consignment in Pennsylvania with the owner’s manual, recent invoices, a spare set of wheels and tires, a clean Carfax report, and a Montana title.

The Vesuvio Edition of the 993 was only available with the Carrera S, and approximately 60 units were completed in total. All of them were finished in Vesuvio Metallic (L40X) with Steel Grey-accented door handles and mirror caps.

The Carrera S-specific split-grille rear spoiler also has Steel Grey accents courtesy of the Vesuvio Edition. The car was optioned with Litronic (xenon) headlights.

Steel Grey-finished 18″ Technology wheels were mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires in July 2026. Braking is handled by Porsche-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners, and the rotors, pads, and wear indicators were replaced in December 2025.

Trimmed in Classic Grey partial leather, the cabin features heated seats, a Becker-Porsche CDR-21 radio, a Hi-Fi speaker system, air conditioning, and an onboard computer. The air-conditioning system was recharged in December 2025.

VDO instrumentation includes a 300-km/h speedometer, a clock, auxiliary gauges, and a central, Carrera S-branded tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline and an inset digital display. The six-digit odometer shows 140k kilometers (~87k miles), approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.

The air-cooled 3.6L M64 flat-six was rebuilt over the course of a year by Elfer Porsche Classics in Zevenaar, The Netherlands, at a cost of more than €35k.
