This 1964 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was manufactured on December 18, 1963 and was refurbished in the mid-1990s. It was acquired by the seller on BaT in September 2021, and its 3.8-liter inline-six was rebuilt in 2026. The car is finished in Carmen Red over red leather and is equipped with a five-speed manual transmission, a black soft top, a removable body-colored hardtop, 15” wire wheels, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Sony cassette stereo. This XKE is offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, service records, the removed four-speed transmission, additional spare parts, and a Washington title in the seller’s name.

The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example left the factory finished in Carmen Red and was repainted during the aforementioned refurbishment. Equipment includes a black soft top, a body-colored removable hardtop, a driver-side mirror, a louvered clamshell hood, triple windshield wipers, and quad exhaust outlets.

The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-offs and are mounted with Pirelli 4000 tires measuring 205/70. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The brake calipers, pads, and master cylinders were replaced in 2025.

The cockpit features fixed-back bucket seats that have been re-trimmed in red leather, and matching upholstery extends to the door panels, center console, and shifter boot. Features include a leather-wrapped shift knob, three-point seatbelts, a Sony cassette stereo, Pioneer speakers, and black floor mats with red piping.

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. Readouts for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are housed in the center of the dash. The speedometer was rebuilt in July 2026, and the five-digit odometer shows 54k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.8-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. The engine was rebuilt between 2025 and 2026 by Autosport of Seattle, Washington, and records from the work are provided in the gallery. A Pertronix distributor was installed at that time and the carburetors were synced and adjusted.

Engine block stamping RA4734-9 is shown above, and a corresponding number is stamped on the cylinder head and shown on both the chassis plate and Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate.

A five-speed manual transmission was installed under prior ownership along with a a Stainless Brothers exhaust system. The clutch hydraulic cylinders were replaced in March 2025.
