This 1979 Yamaha RD400 Daytona Special was stored for approximately two decades before its 2024 acquisition by the seller, who tells us that subsequent work included refinishing the frame, reupholstering the two-up seat, servicing the front and rear disc brakes, fitting the dual Mikuni carburetors with pod-style air filters, and more as listed below. Powered by an air-cooled 398cc two-stroke parallel-twin paired with a six-speed transmission, the motorcycle is finished in Silky White and Stormy Red with Daytona Special decals. It also features a kick starter, electronic ignition components, an aftermarket dual exhaust system, Hagon rear shocks, seven-spoke 18″ cast-alloy wheels, a black-finished rear fender, folding passenger foot pegs, aftermarket turn signals, and a side stand. This RD400 is offered at no reserve with an Ohio title in the seller’s name.

The bodywork is finished in Silky White and Stormy Red with Daytona Special decals, and the seller notes that work in 2024 included repainting the double-cradle frame and reupholstering the two-up seat in black vinyl. Power is routed to the rear wheel through a six-speed transmission and a replacement drive chain that was installed in 2024. The seller states that the transmission oil was changed under current ownership, and the clutch cable was replaced in August 2026.
