This 1988 Ford Mustang is the only example modified with the selected options and colors by Saleen Autosport for the model year, and it is finished in black with gold graphics over beige cloth upholstery. The 5.0-liter V8 features an aftermarket aluminum radiator, a BBK Power Plus air intake system, a 70mm BBK throttle body, 24-lb fuel injectors, a Pypes X-pipe, and dual Flowmaster mufflers. The engine is linked with a five-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential, and Saleen additions include 16″ basketweave wheels, upgraded suspension and brakes, front and rear spoilers, sport seats, and a short-throw shifter. The seller acquired the car in 2015 and it now has 88k miles. This Mustang Saleen Fox-body is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a Saleen letter of authenticity, Saleen literature, service records, and a Washington title.

Finished in Black with gold stripes and lettering, the exterior was modified by Saleen with a rear spoiler, revised front and rear fascias, side skirts, and gold tone side graphics. The Saleen build number can be seen on the left side of the front bumper, along with Saleen and Racecraft Suspension logos. Paint meter readings are displayed in the gallery and the seller notes that a portion of the rear corner of the car was refinished.

Five-lug 16″ American Racing/Saleen basketweave wheels are mounted with 225/50 Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel, power-assisted disc brakes. Saleen suspension upgrades included unique springs, strut top bearings, urethane sway bar bushings, Monroe Formula GP shocks, and a horizontal axle damper. The front wheel bearings were repacked and the master cylinder and front and rear brake pads, calipers, and rotors were replaced in February 2023.

The Flo-Fit bucket seats are trimmed in beige cloth along with Saleen-branded door panels and floor mats. Amenities include an Alpine CD stereo and power windows, locks, and mirrors. A serialized Saleen plaque is mounted ahead of the shifter, which is equipped with a Saleen knob and a short-throw shifter. A Steve Saleen signature adorns the right side of the dashboard. A picture of Saleen signing the car is displayed in the gallery. The air conditioning does not blow cold.

The leather-wrapped MOMO steering wheel frames Saleen Mustang-branded instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The speedometer cable was replaced in February 2023. The five-digit odometer shows 88k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership.

The 302ci V8 was factory rated at 225 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque and it features an aftermarket aluminum radiator, a BBK Power Plus air intake system, a 70mm BBK throttle body, a Pypes X-pipe, and 24-lb fuel injectors. Recent work consisted of replacing the heater core and installing Flowmaster mufflers and replacement tailpipes. The factory catalysts have been removed.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a rebuilt Borg-Warner T-5 five-speed manual transmission and a Traction-Lok limited-slip differential. The rear differential was rebuilt and the driveshaft U-joints were replaced in February 2023 and the transmission output shaft seal was replaced in June 2026.
