This 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was delivered new to Chevy Chase Chevrolet Oldsmobile in Bethesda, Maryland, and it has remained registered in the state since and been driven 26k miles. Finished in Torch Red over Black leather, the fixed-roof coupe is powered by a 5.7-liter LS6 V8 linked to a six-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes an aftermarket rear spoiler, a carbon-fiber air-intake system, pop-up headlights, a head-up display, and 17″ and 18″ wheels. The seller recently acquired the car and reports touching up stone chips as well as replacing the hood insulation, front badge, head-up display bezel, climate control buttons, and other interior trim pieces. This C5 Z06 is now offered with the owner’s manual, spare parts, two sets of keys, a clean Carfax report, and a Maryland title in the seller’s name.
The C5 Z06 was only offered as a fixed-roof coupe for increased chassis stiffness and featured a quad-exit titanium exhaust system, mesh grille inserts, and weight-saving measures such as thinner glass and reduced sound deadening when compared to the standard C5. This example is finished in Torch Red and features an aftermarket rear spoiler, pop-up headlights, body-side moldings, Z06 fender badges, and rear brake vents. A 50th anniversary front badge was installed, and stone chips were touched up under current ownership.
Gray-finished 17″ and 18″ alloy wheels are mounted with Continental tires. The Z06 suspension featured a larger front stabilizer bar, increased damping, and a higher spring rate than the standard Corvette. The car is equipped with Active Handling and traction control systems, speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion power steering, and ventilated disc brakes with red calipers at all four corners.
The bucket seats are upholstered in Black leather with red Z06 headrest embroidery. Amenities include a six-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a head-up display, an onboard computer, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Bose sound system with an in-dash CD player. The head-up display bezel, climate control buttons, and miscellaneous interior trim pieces were replaced in preparation for the sale.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a 200-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline along with gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 26k miles, fewer than 100 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.7-liter LS6 V8 was based upon the contemporary LS1 and features a refined aluminum block, a higher-lift camshaft, a 10.5:1 compression ratio, and increased air and oil flow. Factory-rated output for the 2003 model year was 405 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. A carbon-fiber air-intake system with 50th anniversary graphics is installed, and the removed factory components are included in the sale. The hood insulation was replaced in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox and a 3.42:1 limited-slip differential.
The window sticker notes initial delivery to Chevy Chase Chevrolet Oldsmobile in Bethesda, Maryland, and lists factory equipment, colors, options, and a total vehicle price of $51,320. The owner’s manual, two sets of keys, and the removed factory intake are also included in the sale.
