Relatively new fan here so sorry if this is a stupid question but can anyone explain to me why Real Madrid thought running back the team with both Vini and Mbappe would magically work this year? From what I understand both of these guys are high-profile goal scorers who refuse to track back and often occupy the same role on the team? Why didn’t Real Madrid sell Vini and beef up the midfield? They are Real Madrid, they could have any player they want, right? Just super confused. Vini and Arsenal seemed like it would be a perfect fit and Real Madrid using that money to spend on beefing up the midfield just seems like it would have been a win-win for everyone. Not to mention, Real Madrid could have Guler (who seems to be their most creative player) on the field more often with Vini gone.
