This 1983 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup was retrofitted with a 1.9-liter diesel inline-four under previous ownership. It was acquired by the seller in 2010 and later received an exterior repaint and an overhaul of the interior. The truck is finished in red over red cloth, and equipment includes a four-speed manual transaxle, 13″ wheels, air conditioning, and an aftermarket stereo. This Rabbit Pickup is now offered at no reserve with an owner’s manual, spare parts, a Carfax report, and a clean Utah title in the seller’s name.

The truck left the factory finished in Royal Red (LE3C) and was repainted and fitted with a replacement windshield under current ownership, according to the seller. A storage box is mounted in the bed. Damage is noted in the Carfax report in 2014, which the seller says is a result of the rear-right of the truck being backed into.

The 13″ wheels are mounted with Toyo tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The seller notes that the wheels were refinished and the brakes were replaced under current ownership.

The seats are trimmed in red cloth, and the cabin is appointed with air conditioning and an aftermarket stereo. The seller notes that the seats have been retrimmed and the carpets have been replaced. The right sun visor is missing.

A replacement gauge cluster has been installed, and instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer, a clock, and readouts for fuel level and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 267k miles, approximately 20k of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.

The seller tells us that the 1.9-liter diesel inline-four is a crate engine that was installed under previous ownership in 2001. Power is sent to the front wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle. Recent work included addressing a leak from the exhaust manifold, recharging the air conditioning system, and replacing the valve cover gasket.
