Sometimes managers are simply stupid, and they need a reminder that they do not have as much power as they think.

In this case, this manager thought it would be funny to throw away one of his employees’ drinks before she had finished it. She left it on the counter for a moment, and since he collects cans to sell them later, he saw it there, and instead of waiting for her to finish it, he threw down the drain what was left and laughed about it. The employee was really mad, but not just for that alone; no, he had been mean to her and to everyone multiple times. So she got her revenge. She sneaked around with another colleague and managed to throw away his entire can collection. 

This is one of those cases of a perfectly avoidable conflict. If the manager had half a brain functioning, he would know that throwing away employees’ beverages when they are still not done, and when they are tired, is a terrible idea. Being mean to employees in general is a terrible idea. If he wasn’t on such a power trip, he would never have been aggressive or disrespectful to them, and they wouldn’t have tried to get back at him. The problem wasn’t the drink alone, although if it were me, I would react in the same way. The problem was that workers already disliked him for being a bad manager, so they had enough resentment toward him to try and ruin something of his. The solution here is pretty simple: be nice to your employees. It doesn’t take much effort to be a decent human being, and you can save a lot of trouble for the future. Let’s hope he has learned his lesson and won’t be disrespectful towards his employees anymore.
