“You tell me – what do I do? What do I need to do?” A24 debuted a second official trailer for the film Misty Green, a new feature written & directed by Chris Rock (directing his fourth so far). This first premiered at TIFF a few weeks ago (watch that trailer), but it’s also about to screen at the New York Film Festival starting this weekend. Years after her Hollywood breakthrough, a talented actress whose career has stalled fights for her second act. The film is said to “brilliantly satirize the bigotry and hustle at the heart of Hollywood.” Starring Slow Horses’ Rosalind Eleazar as Misty, Chris Rock, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, Anna Kendrick, Topher Grace, Kelli Garner, Rich Sommer, Amy Landecker, Anthony Anderson, and Tracie Thoms as Rhonda. The review from TIFF were mostly mixed, not everyone enjoyed this, but it does seem like a fascinating take on an actress making a comeback.
