This 1971 Land Rover 109 Series IIA is a right-hand-drive station wagon that was acquired by the seller as a non-working project in 2024 after it had been stripped to bare metal. Under current ownership, the replacement 2.3-liter inline-four was fitted with a high-compression cylinder head and equipped with a Weber carburetor, a Pierce intake manifold, and a Pertonix electronic distributor and Flame Thrower ignition coil. Equipment includes 16″ steel wheels, a four-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a tropical roof with alpine windows, while the black vinyl interior features three-across front seats, an inward-facing rear bench, and a cabin heater. This 109 Series IIA is now offered with service records and transferable New York registration in the seller’s name.

The truck features a vented tropical roof with alpine windows, and it was stripped to bare metal under previous ownership. Work performed under current ownership reportedly includes rust remediation on the frame that included replacing the rear crossmember as well as the lower bulkhead and left front footwell floor panels. The seller tells us the right front footwell floor panel was repaired under previous ownership.

Black-finished 16″ steel wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires, and a spare is affixed to the rear door. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums, and in April 2025 the shoes, master cylinder, and lines were replaced along with the wheel cylinders.

The right-hand-drive cabin is trimmed in black vinyl and features three-across front seating, a second-row bench seat, and an inward-facing bench on the right-side of the cargo area, along with a cabin heater, windscreen defrosting attachments, and a metal dashboard. The cabin lighting and the horn do not work.

The three-spoke steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation including a 75-mph speedometer and gauges for water temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 54k miles, approximately 800 of which were added under current ownership. The seller states the mileage is not accurate, and total mileage is unknown.

The replacement 2.3-liter inline-four was fitted with a high-compression cylinder head in January 2025, per the seller, after which a Weber 32/36 DGV carburetor, a Pierce intake manifold, a Lucas alternator, and a Pertonix electronic distributor and Flame Thrower ignition coil were installed, and the fuel pump and exhaust system were replaced.

Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case that were reportedly rebuilt in February 2025. The seller tells us the clutch was replaced in August 2026.
The car is sold with its transferable New York registration, which acts as proof of ownership.
