1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window Coupe L76 327/340 4-Speed

This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette split-window coupe is powered by a 327ci L76 V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission that were rebuilt in 2003. It is finished in red over red vinyl upholstery, and features include a single Carter four-barrel carburetor, a Flamethrower electronic ignition, and 15″ steel wheels with three-eared knock-off spinner-style hubcaps as well as power-assisted brakes, an AM/FM radio, and concealed headlights. The car was purchased by the current owner in 2026, and subsequent work has included rebuilding the carburetor and replacing the tie rods, rear sway bar links, idler arm, center link, headlight motors, fuel gauge, and fuel sender. This C2 split-window coupe is now offered in California on dealer consignment with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a car cover, and a clean Arizona title.

The fiberglass body left the factory finished in Riverside Red and it was repainted under prior ownership. The car features flip-up headlamps, fender vents, quad tail lamps, chrome bumperettes, and dual exhaust tips that exit through the rear valance. The headlight motors were replaced in preparation for the sale. The seller notes that the antenna does not retract.

Silver-finished 15” steel wheels feature three-eared knock-off spinner-style hubcaps and are mounted with 205/75 Hankook tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted drums. Work in 2003 and 2004 included rebuilding the front end and replacing the ball joints and rear spring assembly. The tie rods, rear sway bar links, idler arm, and center link were replaced in August 2026.

The cabin features two bucket seats that have been reupholstered in red vinyl as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include a heater, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and lap belts.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 86k miles, approximately 30 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown. The fuel gauge and fuel sender were replaced under current ownership.

The 327ci L76 V8 was equipped from the factory with a single Carter four-barrel carburetor, a Flamethrower electronic ignition, and a high-lift camshaft for a factory rating of 340 horsepower. The engine was rebuilt in 2003 with work that included porting the heads and manifolds, performing a valve job, and replacing the lifters, camshaft, pistons, bearings, radiator, water pump, and starter. The carburetor was rebuilt in September 2026.

The engine stamping includes sequence 3114520, which matches the last six digits of the vehicle’s serial number. The RE suffix corresponds with a 340-horsepower, 327ci V8 for use with a manual transmission.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The transmission was rebuilt in 2004, and the clutch and flywheel were replaced in 2006.
