This 1979 Chevrolet Corvette was purchased new by its owner and was optioned with the Convenience Group, air conditioning, an AM/FM/8-track stereo, power windows and locks, Gymkhana suspension, and a 5.7-liter L82 V8, which is linked to a four-speed manual transmission. Finished in Black over Oyster leather and cloth, the car is equipped with a Positraction differential, removable glass roof panels, 15″ Rally wheels, and four-wheel disc brakes. After the car had been sitting for a number of years, preparation for the sale consisted of changing the oil and replacing the fuel sender, tires, brake calipers and pads, and more. Showing 9k miles, this C3 Corvette is offered by the seller on behalf of its owner with a dealer invoice, a buyer’s order, owner’s manuals, and a clean Connecticut title in the owner’s name.

The car is finished in Black (19L) and features removable glass T-top roof panels, pop-up headlights, side marker lights, fender air vents, sport mirrors, and quad taillights. The power antenna was disconnected after it was discovered to be continuously running.

Silver-finished 15″ Rally wheels with bright center caps and trim rings were fitted with 225/70 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T white-letter tires in preparation for the sale. Optional FE7 Gymkhana suspension was specified from the factory, and braking is handled by four-wheel power-assisted discs. The brake calipers, pads, and front hoses have also been replaced.

The bucket seats are upholstered in Oyster leather with patterned cloth inserts, and the door panels are trimmed to match. Additional appointments include air conditioning, a Delco AM/FM/8-track stereo, power windows and door locks, and a rear-window defroster. An alarm system has been installed but does not work.

The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel is tilt- and reach-adjustable, and it frames a 140-mph speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer. A clock and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level are located in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 9k miles, all of which were added under current ownership.

The 350ci L82 V8 is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and an aluminum intake manifold and was factory rated at 225 horsepower. Work in preparation for the sale is said to have included changing the oil and replacing the fuel sending unit and the battery hold-down assembly.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential. Replacement clutch-fork anti-rattle springs were installed in preparation for the sale. The seller notes some rust on suspension components, and additional underside images are viewable in the gallery.

The dealer invoice lists initial delivery to Dan-Ridge Chevrolet in Danbury, Connecticut, along with factory colors and equipment.
