This 1955 Studebaker President sedan was refurbished under prior ownership, reportedly between 2011 and 2013, before being acquired by the seller in 2025. The car is refinished in Cascade Green and blue over blue vinyl upholstery and powered by a 259ci Wildcat V8. The three-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt in August 2026. Equipment includes 15″ steel wheels with covers, four-wheel drum brakes, bench seating, an AM radio, a heater, and lap belts. This President is now offered with the owner’s manual and a transferable New York registration in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in Cascade Green and blue during the aforementioned refurbishment and features chrome bumpers and trim along with dual side mirrors. The trunk lock assembly was replaced under current ownership. Blemishes noted by the seller include peeling chrome and surface rust on the front bumper, areas of light pitting at the bottoms of the fenders, and a scratch on the left-rear quarter panel above the wheel skirt.
The 15″ steel wheels wear covers and are mounted with Runway Enduro tires 205/75. The upper control arm bushings were replaced under current ownership. Stopping power is provided by drum brakes at each corner.
The front and rear bench seats are trimmed in blue vinyl, and interior appointments include seatbelts, an AM radio, manually operated windows, and a heater. The dash-mounted clock does not work.
The steering wheel frames a 110-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles, approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership.
The 259ci Wildcat V8 was factory rated at 175 horsepower. The seller tells us that it was rebuilt between 2011-13, and that additional work under current ownership included rebuilding the generator, replacing the voltage regulator, and adding a 6V electric fuel pump.
The three-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt in August 2026.
The car is being sold on its New York registration, which serves as the ownership document for vehicles of its age in the state.
