363-Powered 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302

This 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 302 was originally specified in Medium Blue Metallic with a black interior, a shaker hood, a rear spoiler, Sport Slats, power steering, the Décor Group, a rim-blow steering wheel, a tachometer, and an AM/FM stereo. The car was restored in the 1990s, at which time a Sport Deck rear seat, a console, hood locks, and a 3.91 Traction-Lok differential were added. It was acquired in 2008 by the seller, who had a custom 363ci Boss V8 installed in 2009, and the car was further modified with 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels, a Flaming River steering box, a Holley carburetor, and more as described below. This Boss 302 is now offered with an Elite Marti Report, its factory build sheet, the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, removed drivetrain components, a car cover, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car was refinished in its factory Medium Blue during the 1993 restoration, and it was originally specified with a rear spoiler, Sport Slats, and a shaker hood. The seller notes that the hood locks were added in the 1990s.

Front disc brakes, quick-ratio steering, and competition suspension were specified from the factory. The 15″ Magnum 500-style wheels are mounted with F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas tires, and a Flaming River steering box has been fitted. The seller states that the brake pads and fluid were replaced in October 2025 and notes that the tires are more than eight years old.

A previous owner added a Sport Deck rear seat and console, and the seller installed the replacement Hurst shifter, replaced the ignition switch, and retrofitted LED bulbs in the dash. An AM/FM radio has been retained. The seller notes a small tear in the lower passenger seat cushion and states that the space-saver spare inflator bracket requires welding to the trunk floor.

The rim-blow steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and a fuel-level gauge, while auxiliary gauges are mounted ahead of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows 26k miles, approximately 1,200 of which were added under current ownership. The seller believes the reading is inaccurate, and total mileage is unknown.

The original Boss 302 engine was replaced in 2009 with a Ford Motorsport 363ci Boss V8 block built with Edelbrock Performer RPM Clevor heads and topped by an Edelbrock intake manifold and a Holley carburetor. Electronic ignition and Flowmaster mufflers were also added, and service performed in October 2025 included changing the engine oil and filter, transmission and differential lubricants, coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and fuel filter. The 363ci build specifications document and photos of compression test readings are provided in the gallery.

The seller states that California emissions equipment was removed, a new fuel tank and non-vented fuel cap were installed, and the power steering ram, hoses, and pump were renewed. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, which the seller reports was rebuilt in 2009, and a 3.91:1 Traction-Lok limited-slip differential installed during the 1993 restoration.

The included original 302 was rebuilt with an Eagle stroker kit, JE pistons, a COMP Cams Xtreme Energy camshaft, Manley valves, and ARP hardware. Build records are detailed in the gallery.

The seller states that the original Boss 302 engine, carburetor, fuel pump, rev limiter, dual-point distributor, intake manifold, water pump, Hurst shifter with T-handle, coil braces, California emissions components, smog equipment, space-saver spare, and additional factory parts accompany the vehicle.

The stampings on the removed original Boss 302 engine and the equipped original four-speed manual transmission are shown above.
