Supercharged LS3–Powered 1968 Pontiac Firebird Coupe

This 1968 Pontiac Firebird coupe was modified and refurbished following the seller’s acquisition in 2015. The body is finished in “Superman Red” with carbon-fiber spoilers and side mirrors, and the car rides on an adjustable Ridetech suspension with coilovers and rack-and-pinion steering. Power is supplied by a supercharged 6.2-liter LS376/525 V8 linked with a 4L85e four-speed automatic transmission and a 12-bolt limited-slip rear axle, and additional build details include LED lighting, 18″ Boze Flo-Lite wheels, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and a custom exhaust system with headers. The cabin is outfitted with a TMI Products kit, racing bucket seats, Vintage Air climate control, Dakota Digital instrumentation, an NRG flat-bottom steering wheel, and a Planet Audio Bluetooth stereo. This Firebird is now offered with a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.

The body was refinished in “Superman Red” under current ownership. Equipment includes front and rear carbon-fiber spoilers, carbon-fiber GT-style side mirrors, quad LED headlights, LED sequential taillights, a polished front grille and bumpers, and tinted glass. Billet hood and trunk hinges with gas struts have been fitted, and relief sections were cut into the hood to accommodate the supercharger assembly. A custom “Superman” shield emblem is mounted on the rear trunk latch panel. The seller notes fitment alignment variations across body panels and a touched-up blemish on the passenger-side rear quarter panel.

The seller tells us the car is fitted with a Ridetech suspension system with tubular front control arms, a rack-and-pinion power steering system, and a four-link rear suspension with coilovers and subframe connectors.

Satin-black 18″ Boze Flo-Lite B1 forged wheels are mounted with Kenda Vezda UHP Max+ tires measuring 245/40 in front and 285/35 at the rear. Stopping power is provided by hydroboost-assisted Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with a dual-circuit master cylinder.

The cabin has been fitted with TMI Pro Series finishings including front racing bucket seats and rear contoured seats upholstered in black leather and microsuede with red offset stitching. Additional details include Schroth multi-point harnesses, a matching TMI cupholder console, custom door panels, billet door handles, a B&M shifter, Vintage Air climate control, a wink mirror, and a Planet Audio Bluetooth receiver linked to aftermarket audio components.

The battery has been relocated to the trunk alongside a fuel cell featuring braided AN fuel lines and an Aeromotive pressure regulator.

The flat-bottom NRG Innovations steering wheel is wrapped in black leather and microsuede and mounted on a tilting Flaming River steering column. Dakota Digital instrumentation set within a carbon-look housing consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a digital clock, and supplementary readouts. Pod-mounted gauges on the driver’s A-pillar monitor air/fuel ratio and fuel pressure, while a carbon-fiber bezel at the center stack contains digital displays for transmission temperature, oil temperature, and exhaust gas temperature. The digital odometer shows 10k miles, and total mileage is unknown.

The 6.2-liter LS376/525 V8 was installed as a crate motor in 2018, according to the seller, who notes that it is equipped with a 2.3-liter Edelbrock E-Force supercharger, Injector Dynamics ID1300 fuel injectors, and an E-85 flex-fuel sensor. Other details include a polished intake pipe, billet hood hinges, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans.

The seller tells us the four-speed automatic transmission is a 4L85E unit that sends power to a heavy-duty driveshaft with 1350 U-joints and a 12-bolt rear end housing a Truetrac limited-slip differential and 3.73:1 gears. Exhaust gas flows through long-tube headers, an X-pipe, bullet-style mufflers, and turn-down finishers terminating ahead of the rear axle.
